My favorite thin crust pizza in Chicago, or anywhere else!
by dtp75
The pizza here keeps me coming back. It is absolutely delicious! The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had too. The pizza does take a long time to make...at least half an hour, so be prepared for that. Since the food is amazing, I am willing to put up with the service, which is not very good. I wouldn't recommend take-out pizza, or pizza by the slice, it's just not the same as the fresh out of the oven. It's true that it doesn't reheat well too. You've got to try this pizza though, it's the best.
- Pros: The best thin crust pizza out there!
- Cons: The service is subpar.
Avoid unless you want overpriced pizza/food and horrible service

After running through the relatively good reviews about this pizza place, we decided to try it out. Being from out of town, we were all excited to have a taste of good Chicago pizza. But was greatly disappointed by the food and service! The slices of pizza were overpriced for their average quality and didn't reheat up great at all. Our party of five waited a good while for our food to come, despite the fact there wasn't even that many people in the place. The waitress neglected our drink refills and forgot our second orders. After giving us our food, the only time we saw her next was for the bill that ridiculously included the tip already (probably why she didn't feel the need to care). Definitely would not recommend!
The next day we decided to test our luck again at another Chicago pizza place known for their thin-crust. The place Piece in Bucktown helped make up for our disappointment at Renaldi's. The pizza was great!
- Cons: Food, service, tip policy
Without a doubt the best thin pizza in Chicago!

After stuffing myself full of food in this neighborhood - I was house sitting for the weekend - I called it a night by taking out a slice of pizza from Renaldi's. I've lived in Chicago for 5 years and haven't found a better piece (thin crust/new york style) of pizza though Piece competes admirably. Another person in my group had the deep dish and it wasn't as well received. Regardless, I'll be making my way back to Renaldi's on a regular basis!
- Pros: NY Style/Thinner Crust Pizza was Delicious!!!
- Cons: The counter person was off, parking could be tough, thick crust wasn't as well received though decent
Great Thin Crust Pizza carryout is much faster

Excellent quality, at fair price. Did have to wait over an hour for delivery when I live only 2 blocks away but when pizza did arrive it was hot like it just came out of oven. They also did advise me of how long it would take when placing the order, but I continue to order so it is well worth the wait. I also have dined in their dinning room which has a nice Italian ambience (including Soprano poster on wall). I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an exceptional thin crust pizza, with fresh ingredients.
They are more on the mid range as far as pricing my 14" 3 item pizza cost me about $19.00 but I go back often so I feel it is well worth a visit.
My favorite so far!

Renaldi's thin crust pizza is to die for! I tried it for my first time today. I ordered spinach & chicken. The cheese was sooo good! As a pizza lover I am always critical of the sauce, but Renaldi's got it right!! I can't wait until I'm hungry again so I can have some delivered to me! Also, a side note: The ladies bathroom is immaculate and beautifully decorated. I'm sure guys don't care where they go but that's typically a big issue for women. So, girls, have no fear! LOL
- Pros: Great pizza! Great service! Great ambience!
- Cons: The prices are a tad too high.
What can I say....horrible

This place was one of the worst of chicago. The pizza...decent but pasta dishes overpriced. I ordered a seafood pasta for 16.00 and it came out with fake crab meat and no flavor whatsoever. Who charges that for seafood pasta then puts fake crab on it? There were mabe 3 small shrimps on it to boot. We brought in our entertainment coupon and the manager refused it saying he isn't honoring them and there was a "sign" on the door. I went to check and there was no sign. As I was walking in, here comes the manager with a freshly typed sign.
- Pros: the red sauce
- Cons: overpriced, rude management
My favorite pizza in Chicago
by kmkochdu
Alright, I think it's impossible to make claims that any place has the "best pizza in Chicago," because, as we all know, everyone's taste is different. But I will say this: when my boyfriend moved out of this neighborhood, one of the biggest downsides was not having Renaldi's thin crust pizza with sliced tomatoes delivered once a week anymore. I can't say the ambience is so unusually wonderful at Renaldi's, and the service is hit-or-miss, but we simply don't care about that. We go for the pizza, plain and simple. We always get it the same way, and it is always equally wonderful. The crust is perfect, the sauce is perfect, the spices are perfect. I'm hooked. Now we drive seven miles and circle until we find parking. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Every time.
Long-standing Lakeview favorite draws a casual crowd with pizzas, pasta and more.

In Short
Beyond the front takeout counter and open kitchen, a dining area is decked with sculptures and mock cathedral windows, mimicking an Italian village. Dishes are reliable and reasonably priced. Favorites include veal parmigiana, plus generously sized sandwiches and pasta plates. But the highlight is the pizza--pan, Sicilian (called "Spingione") or New York style. The plain cheese pizza is delicious--a crust that folds just right, seasoned tomato sauce and a touch of oregano.
- Pros: good pizzawarm ambience
Oh how I miss this place
by andreoutlaw
I've been eating at Renaldi's for the last 15 years. It is one of the things that I miss about leaving the Chicagoland area. Even when I moved to NW Indiana I made it a point to take a trip to the resturant ever 3 or 4 months. When I lived on the North Side I would stop by for a slice once ever week or so. Though it may not be for everyone, people that are used to frozen or chain pizza may not like Renaldi's. People that enjoy a good hand made pizza will love Renaldi's.
The only thing that's a pain in the butt is finding parking. There is none in the area. You can pay for parking at the Century mall, but I've always been to cheap to pay so after 15 plus years I don't know what the parking rate there is.
- Pros: Taste, Price
- Cons: , Parking, Parking
Um Um Good

Renaldi's is one of my two favorite pizzerias. I don't mind the traveling (around 17 miles from my home) just to get their thin crust pizza.
