Great bar for a low-key night out. Excellent food, Scotch flights, and great beers on tap. I recommend the Young's Double Chocolate or any of the Belhaven drafts. No TVs, so don't expect to watch sports there.

When in Chicago, its sometimes hard to find a good bargin. The Duke of Perth offers all you can eat fish and chips on Wednesday and Friday, so plan on dropping in on one of those days.

My favorite part of the bar is the outdoor beer garden which is great during the summer.

Duke of Perth is one of the only low-key neighborhood bars in the East Lakeview neighborhood. I love the many draught beers they have on tap and my fiance enjoys that they offer great scotch and whiskey choices (they even have flights!). They have a hearty bar menu with good specials. The service is friendly, low-key, and attentive. This is a great place to throw back a few beers with friends. They also have a great patio for nice days!

  • Pros: Great beer, nice patio, not too crowded

Read and believe the other reviews. Colin has, bar none, the best Scottish pub outside of Scotland. All the pub grub is fresh, plenty to eat, and worth the modest price...and you must try the Haggis Wings!!! Great UK/USA tap beers, bottles...best single malt collection in the known universe. Enjoy!!

  • Pros: atmosphere, inside/outside seats, value for money
  • Cons: parking can be hard, crowds weekends, close2Adaily/3ASats

I went to this restaurant a few years ago on Burns' Day in order to try haggis. The haggis was okay, not the most tasty dish (especially when you know the recipe), but their Shepherd's Pie was excellent!! The ambiance was very nice, a cozy place.

In Short
Sturdy stools at the bar, long benches along the wall and memorabilia from the Isles give this place an authentic feel. A jovial pub crowd, tight and raucous on weekend nights, downs pints and scarfs down bar food to traditional Celtic sounds. The menu offers Isles-inspired fare including Scotch eggs, steak and kidney pie, and fish served with thick-cut chips and plenty of vinegar on the side.

  • Pros: convivial atmospheregreat bar food

This is THE place for scotch drinkers. Incredible selection--everything from 10 year Talisker to bottles dating back to the '60's. The casual pub fare is pretty darn tasty as well.

  • Pros: scotch, food
  • Cons: can be crowded

A couple of winters ago, a group of co-workers and I were in Chicago on business. We were all from out of town and had orignally planned to eat a buca di beppo since we all knew the place. They were unable to accommodate us and thankfully we found Duke of Perth just down the street. To this day I'm so glad we found this place. The oatmeal stout was memorable and the shepherd's pie was amazing. I'm definitely going back this winter since the food and beer lends itself to colder weather.

  • Pros: Great Food, Great Beer, Great Prices
  • Cons: Small inside
