A while back i had ordered take-out from Chens and my order was completely wrong. but i ate what they gave me, however, it wasn't what i had ordered. on valentine's day, i decided to spend a romantic evening at home with my bf so i decided to order from Chens again. by the time i got home with my food i found out that they forgot half of my order. Finally last night, i decided to try Chen's again. I ordered the Lemon Chicken. The description sounded delicious, "crispy chicken, tangy, lemon flavor." Not one of those words could have been used to describe my dish. it was absoluetly terrible. the chicken was tough and the outside was soggy and to top it off, the majority of the dish was all cooked fruit (apples, oranges, pineapple....). Nothing on the mention mentioned that the dish. It was absolutely terrible. i don't think i've ever been that disappointed with a restauarant.
- Pros: sushi is delicious
- Cons: lemon chicken is terrible and not at all how it is described on the menu
Chen's - another underwhelming experience in chinese cuisine

I was recommended by a friend to try Chen's on Clark. I was immensely dissappointed in my experience. The flavors at chen's lack depth, and the food is unoriginal and uninspiring. Because there is so much bad chinese food out there, i was hopeful that Chen's would be a welcome departure from the plethora of bad chinese restaurants. I was wrong. Chen's is just another in a long live of substandard chinese restaurants. Yen's, on Clark street, as well, is much much better. I definitely recommend them over Chen's.
- Pros: Food is way overrated, lacks flavor and freshness
- Cons: Food is overrated, lacks flavor and freshness
Mr. Chen should be ashamed

How is it possible that my fried rice had mushrooms, peas, carrots, and other veggies in it yet had no taste. These veggies must have been frozen since 1995 for there to be absolutley no flavor coming from them when they were cooked with the rice. I have tasted better more flavorful chicken from Mcdonalds than I did from Mr. Chen's restaraunt.
Did I mention that I was sick for 2 days after eating here? The only good thing that came from eating here is that I now have a stock pile of pepto bismol and other stomach remedies in my cabinet that I had to go out and buy.
Mr. Chen.....I would give your restaraunt 0 stars if possible.
- Pros: hmmmmm......
- Cons: Bland food, stomach hurts
Average Chinese, with the understanding that the average in town is not very good

Another typica chinese dive, but one that pretends to offer more, Chen's greatly disappoints. There 's only one decent chinese restaurant in Chicago right now... and that is Shanghai Terrace in the city.... that's the cold hard truth.
- Pros: Average food, average service

I am not sure that I have tasted much worse sushi. We ordered relatively common items (california roll, salmon maki, etc.) and none tasted fresh or very good. Not sure about the Chinese menu, but I would never order sushi from Chens again.

I have only had Chen's for takeout so I cannot comment on the service or atmosphere but the food is always great. Their delivery is prompt and reliable and the menu is large and very diverse. Look for coupons in mailers or on takeout menus.

I ordered delivry and it was delivered very quickly. And actually good I ordered sushi and chicken fried rice. They gave me free egg rolls. That was cool! Very cool! I called a nd complained about lack of sauces they offered to bring more, but I did find more soy under the sushi. And they added cilantro to my hand roll. mmmmm..... More mustards and soy would still be nice. I'm just sayin.
Order form here just tell em you need extra sauces I guess.
Really, really bad

I've had nothing but bad experiences with the quality of the food delivered from here (I've never been in the restaurant itself). The first time I got sushi, and it tasted like the junk you can get at Jewel, with the small pieces and plastic-like aftertaste. I thought this must have been just a fluke, so I tried it again a few weeks later. Same thing. Not fresh at all. I then thought perhaps sushi simply wasn't their strong suite, so I tried some other dishes. Their pork is so fatty , mushy (!), and bland to the point I question if it is even truly pork, and the chicken in the fried rice seems below fast food quality.
I don't see how anyone can possibly give this place a good review based on the food. My only guess is these people are new to the city and/or these sorts of restaurants in general. This place is flat out terrible. Even Panda Express is better. I gave this place several chances...no more.
- Pros: Delivery guys are fast and nice enough
- Cons: Food I wouldn't give my dog
Try their Casino Sushi DIsh, it's out of this world

I've been with some friends here a couple times and i love their dishes. Order the Casino, it's not on the menu but you won't regret it. Even their new Fire Fried Sushi, is great. The only thing I didn't like was the Vegetable Tempura, the sauce wasn't that good, but everything else was great. As for martini's, try the GQ, it's yummy.
- Pros: Casino dish
- Cons: Parking, park at McDonald's for $10 if you can't find street parking
Inexpensive, fine Asian cuisine in a hip setting makes this one of Wrigleyville's best date destinations.

The Scene
Simple, modern and spacious--with an abundance of tables for two--Chen's is a stylish surprise in the heart of Wrigleyville. Bamboo floors and wood accents complement the dining room's white walls; the ceiling glows with soft blue light. A small lounge with fireplace and a sushi bar round out the comfortable space.
The Food
Chen's menu is familiar (lemon chicken, crispy duck) and reasonably priced. Pan-fried dumplings are plump and perfect--add a dash of super-hot chili paste if you dare. Refreshing chilled octopus salad is ideal for splitting--this big bowl of cucumbers, seaweed, wood ear mushrooms and tender chunks of octopus bathes in a deliciously savory vinegar, soy and sesame oil sauce. Soong (wok-seared meat and vegetables) wrapped in lettuce is another light option, and chicken with a combo of beef, chicken and shrimp also satisfies. The menu is supplemented with a selection of standard maki and nigiri sushi.

They have awesome orange chicken but I noticed they tend to get orders wrong sometimes during delivery. So if you have a certain request, make sure to repeat yourself or they'll have to come back for it!
- Pros: good food, prices aren't that bad
- Cons: they're known for screwing up orders
