Over Charge You......
by tyler0816
The jerks tipped themselves on my credit card once I left. I like to tip 20% in cash and they decided to forge my tip amount after I signed the bill. I will never go back!
This place is good business!

I go about once a month. It's a fun atmosphere, has fairly priced margaritas, and great food. Muy Bueno!
- Pros: Value
- Cons: Street Parking
Great service and Burrito.

The Scene
With its magenta walls, orange stucco ceilings, and colorful mosaic tile tables, this place is a bright, festive oasis. An ivy-covered fountain gurgles, and the two long dining rooms are filled with knickknacks and tiled with cool terra-cotta floors. Service can be on the slow side, especially when it's packed, so if you're hoping to catch a show at the nearby Theatre Building, give yourself plenty of time.
The Food
The standard Mexican fare is plentiful and cheap. Filling combos of quesadillas, enchiladas and tacos with beans and fluffy Spanish rice are all less than $10. Dozens of entree choices include chicken, steak and seafood plates--try the shrimp served with spicy sauce on white rice, or go for a two-fisted ground beef burrito. Dessert offerings include deep-fried ice cream and a fine flan.
- Pros: vibrant, festive atmospherecheap food
- Cons: sluggish service
Colorful and energetic place on Belmont
by d0r0thy98
I love this restaurant. It gets packed on weekend nights, and because it's near Wrigley, it's always filled after games, but the service is friendly and as swift as possible. (Sometimes there will be a delay depending on the crowd.) The food is really quite good, too, especially if you adventure past the typical burritos. The garlicky shrimp is some of the best I've had, and the carne asada is tender and full of flavor.
- Pros: Great food, Colorful atmosphere, Friendly service
- Cons: Crowded
Excellent!

Mi Tierra has an excellent menu with a variety of dishes to choose from. I have not found a bad one yet. Although, the only dish they offer with pork is their tamales. I love the chicken enchiladas. They also have many margarita flavors to choose from, one of the longest lists I have ever seen.
The friendly atmosphere has a lot to offer with its helpful service and colorful, authentic decor. I would definitely recommend Mi Tierra for the family, a date, or even just mexican food. You won't find a better mexican dining experience for this price in Chicago. Don't forget to get the fried ice cream for dessert! It is delicious and enough for two.
- Pros: Magarita varieties, Food, Price
- Cons: Not many pork options
Home Cooking

Mi Tierra is a classic the time its been their speaks for itself the food is authentic and taste just like Grandma use to make I recommend the Queso Panela with home made flour tortillas for an appetizer, and this place is not over priced like so many Mexican places you find in Chicago today, So if your looking for a place to take the family or just looking for good food at great price this is the spot.
- Pros: good food, good service, inexpensive
- Cons: parking
not bad at all

This spot is good for a few drinks and munching on chips. I had the tacos and wasn't disappointed, although they were nothing out of the ordinary.
Que rico!

This is one of those jems you find as your walking down Belmont and say "let's try it". The service is prompt. The chips and salsa are great, but you better keep some water near-by.
- Pros: Economical
- Cons: Limited parking
Great food, colorful setting
by robyngalbos_citysearch
This Mexican restaurant on Belmont is welcoming and festive. Tile floors, colorful paper streamers and a waterfall give it a lively, casual feel. Chiles rellenos are some of the best I've tasted--plump and gooey with melted cheese, fried to a crisp golden brown. Chicken mole is a delicious dish, too with bone-in chunks of meat bathed in the sweet deep brown sauce. Mop it up with warm tortillas served on the side. The price is right and the service is friendly.
- Pros: Great food, Full bar, Inexpensive
- Cons: Street parking
