Horrible All-U-Can-Drink

by ChiTown82

This place had a good area sectioned off, but it was a $38 dollar all you can drink and it only included well-drinks. No redbull, no shots. More importantly you HAD to pay the $38 to get into the section. It was a birthday party and some people were already hammered and didn't need the package. I just wanted to have 2 or 3 beers and not stay from 9-12 and they wouldn't let me into the area because I refused to buy a wrist band. What would they do it a pregnant woman or a designated driver was there for the birthday party? I gave them some lip about the policy and I got thrown out. I'll never go back.

  • Cons: Well Drinks; Rip-Off

Good stuff! Chill place with nice staff and tasty food...

by sluggy

My friend and I were both first-timers to Sheffield's after work on a random weekday. We had some drinks, ordered some food - my burger and fries were both super tasty, especially for bar food! - and bottom line, it was a great little hangout. It was a bit of a quiet night, but you could tell the place gets rockin'. The staff was very nice, guys and girls alike. We both left saying we'll be back!

  • Pros: Friendly staff, unpretentious atmosphere, good food
  • Cons: It was cold so we couldn't experience the patio...not that that's a true "con" :)

Kick A$$ Beer Selection

by dangerzone

This place is by far one of the top 3 best beer bars in the City of Chicago. Hands down. Awesome, friendly staff, great food, plenty of room, and the Beer...what else. Staff is very knowledgable and helpful when picking out new beers. I love the fact that you can get a great tasting beer for the same price as a Miller Lite, yet some people will still drink the Lite. Is it the ads? I am out--see you at Sheffield's!

  • Pros: Beer. Staff. Year-round Garden. Red line access.
  • Cons: No more Michelle or Jen Ball.

Cool beer garden, but you have to get there early to enjoy it. Very Crowded. $4 miller lites, a little over priced, but there is always the $2.50 Oldstyle bottles. Mainly filled with guys (80 %) standing around trying to get the attention of the snobby females (20%). But like all bars, if your drunk it does not matter. Go on a weekday.

Select brews and a popular patio define this Lakeview Garden of Eden.

by Contributor

The Scene
A huge antique bar dominates the main room, with cozy, elevated seating nooks along a couple of walls. Two more rooms--one with another bar and a fireplace, the other with a pool table--follow in maze-like fashion. The beer garden is big and comfortable, with lots of seating and ivy-covered walls; it's packed on nice afternoons.

The Draw
Sheffield's takes beer seriously, in a humorous kind of way; among the many specials is the Bad Beer of the Month. Included in the 80 beers generally offered are some of the bar's own brews, including a flavorful stout with a lighter-than-usual body. The laid-back feel extends to the down-to-earth, young professional clientele. It's crowded around Cubs games, but don't let that deter you from visiting other times; this corner bar is perfect for cocktails after work, before or after a casual date, or whenever you and your friends feel like kicking back.

fun place, expensive beer

by payneme

Being new to town, some friends and I went to Sheffield's. It's right down the street, within stumbling distance. The place was packed and looked great. We had a rawkin' good time, but at $4 a bottle for bud light, I can't say I'll be heading there too often. Maybe they have specials during the week, but the weekend is killer on the tab.

  • Pros: great atmosphere, huge bar
  • Cons: expensive

Great Beer Great Staff

by micahbuck

After moving to the city almost 2 years ago I have finally found "my" bar. No yuppie B.S. just a pretty solid group of 25-35 year olds that like a casual bar and some damn fine beer. Highly Recomended by just a regular guy!!!

  • Pros: Superb beers, friendly staff, beautifu amennities
  • Cons: bathrooms need work

Sheffield's

by laurataylor

I went to Sheffield's during a visit to the city from Scotland. The drinks were great and although it was busy everybody was very friendly. We met so many nice people and ended up drinking with one crowd all night. I'd recommend this place to anybody looking for a relaxed, fun night out.

Plant yourself in this beer garden.

Simply the best neighborhood bar - super-friendly staff, cozy atmosphere - probably my favorite casual spot in the city.
