LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

If you love clothes you will LOVE this place. The decor is amazing, like the closet you've always dreamt of. It's funky without being too out there, hip without being too sterile and feminine without being girly. And that's just the walls. Wait til you see the clothes. I walked in here after stopping at a few other places around and I didn't want to leave. They stock the most beautiful jackets from the '40s. Amazing dresses from every decade, and luscious vintage lingerie. I was low on cash so I bought a hat. The most amazing black cocktail hat with a veil from the '50's. But I wanted to buy the entire store. They also stock vintage wedding gowns that will change your world. Cute bags and shoes are tastefully placed around the store, with a bit of jewelry at the cash register-impulsive. Anytime you need a new outfit, this should be your first stop.

• Cons: I don't have a trust fund.

A fixture in Chicago for nearly two decades, Silver Moon has deals on antique clothing that you won't believe. The store also sells some vintage furnishings and accessories as well as an expanded collection of wedding dresses that hang delicately in plastic. Carefully marked with price, size and decade, some items date back to the 19th century, with most from the 1930s and '40s. There's also a selection of new Vivienne Westwood clothes and jewelry.
