Worst Burgers Ever

by iknowmyfood1730 at Citysearch

If you like a big, dried out piece of meat with no flavor, and very slow service with attitude go there.

  • Pros: It does have character
  • Cons: Food and Service awful

Sloooooooooooooow

by Peter8DG at Citysearch

Still make good hamburges, but they lost their good waitress and haven't replaced her. Our wait for our hamburgers was about 50 minutes. That won't do.

  • Pros: Good Hamburgers and Killian Red on tap
  • Cons: Slow slow slow slow

The only think that irks me...

by jillybean60532 at Citysearch

Is the review on this site that ruined their perfect 5-star rating because the reviewer is too cheap or too stupid to figure out how to split a check between two people.

Awesome Burgers!

by foxfire10 at Citysearch

Like the other post... I too grew up in Lemont. Nick's has the best burgers around! Even though I am 1700 miles away from there now a days, I still will stop in for a burger if we are in the area. Took the kids there once, and my daughter wanted a "double cheeseburger", We laughed. She got a single, and only finished 1/2!

Best One Pound Burger In Chicago

by pauldallen at Citysearch

Great Deal!! Ice cold beer on tap. One pound meat burger with no fluff, pickles, onions, catsup, mustard nothing else, cheese or no cheese! Don't ask for tomatoes and lettuce, no gots. Cooked perfect. Small place, great atmosphere, Cubs fan paradise, worth the drive. I live in Indiana!!

Don't just take MY word for it

by nuckingfutz at Citysearch

Having grown up in Lemont, I'll be the first to admit that I might be just a tad bit biased. But it says something when former Illinois governor James Thompson would INSIST on going to Nick's Tavern for one of their ginormous burgers every time he was in the Chicago area. A small, family owned tavern, Nick's is an ideal place to go. The decor is a bit eclectic, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend it, whether you're from Illinois or Italy. And don't take MY word for it... take Gov. Thompson's!

Ma and Pa

by burgereater2 at Citysearch

I love this place! It is a small Ma and Pa place! It's a very relaxing atmosphere!

It gets packed quickly, but the Burgers are worth the wait! They are cooked to order and are a pound, made fresh everyday. Great value. No frills just a great hunk of meat and chips!

And it is a Cubs Bar...I think the only one that far south!!!!

  • Pros: Great Value, Great Burger, Family Type Bar

Separate Checks

by route_66 at Citysearch

I only go to Nick's a few times a year with a friend of mine. It irks me that they won't do separate checks for just two people. It can't be that hard! The burgers are good though.

  • Pros: Great burgers
  • Cons: , No separate checks, Crowded on Saturday
