My first encounter was in 1953. All they served was hot dogs. Expanded meun now. Fries served on the bun. Make sure you eat it that way. In current location since the 40's. Original stand at Austin and Ogden dating back to the 30's. One of my Dad's afterschool haunts. You gotta love a place that's been selling hot dogs for over 60 years.

A larger-than-life, fry-topped hot dog sign beckons inside this unassuming brick building, where southwest siders snack on cost-conscious, caloric fast food staples at tiny booths. The star of the menu is the Chicago-style hot dog loaded with mustard, onions, a pickle and sport peppers. Other favorites include fish sandwiches, polish sausage, jus-soaked gravy bread and spicy tamales. Perfect for afterwards are soft serve ice cream cones, apple turnovers and fruity slushes.

Henry's have been serving hotdogs with fries on top for decades. Either like it, or leave it. I have enjoyed Henry's for years.
