I used to try many different salons, but never found a salon with a stylist that consistently did a great job.

Since trying A Matter of Style, about a year ago, I have been very pleased with the services I've received.

I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.

Great massage

I've been getting massages at A Matter of Style from Gayle - her hot stone massage is amazing! She is very friendly but matches your mood, so if you just want to relax and not chat, no problem. She always asks about how much pressure you want, which is great. With other massage people, I have felt pummelled and beaten OR barely massaged. She uses candles and music for relaxation. I like the citrusy tangerine massage oil, and you can choose what you want! So, Gayle is highly recommended.

Horrible owners and horrible place

The owners, Mickey and Susan are two of the rudest people on earth. They treat their stylists and employees horribly right in front of customers. I only went because the fantasic job my stylist did, thankfully she left and went to Elan Salon in River Forest on Lake Street.

This place gives no incentives or rewards to its long standing customers, I never received as much as a sample of shampoo from this place.

I will never go back and I am letting all of my friends in oak park know how horrible these people are.

• Pros: My stylist Renee cuts hair beautifully
• Cons: The owners are cheap, rude and have horrible customer service

Front desk staff unprofessional and go somewhere else for a waxing

The ladies at the front desk are very busy talking about what they did last weekend and not attending to their customers. I came in and stood at the front desk for about 3 minutes and the ladies thought it was appropriate to ignore me and finish up their personal conversation. They also were very short and I do not appreciate that type of attitude when I am paying for a service. I have never gotten my hair cut there but I have gone a couple of times to get a waxing and won't be back. There is one lady that does waxings that is experienced and professional but it is difficult to get in to see her. The other lady is very young and inexperienced and I certainly don't like being practiced on and paying for it. You may want to try getting your hair cut but I hope that the ladies at the front desk get an attitude adjustment or are replaced with people who want to be there and make the customers feel welcomed.

• Cons: rude staff, over-priced for the skill level

Professional Service, Friendly Staff, Great Haircut

I got my hairs cut by Nicolina last week, and was very pleased, She is not only a very friendly stylist, but also very precise. With her attention to detail, she made me feel at ease going here for the first time. I am very happy with the haircut and will definitely be back!

Very proffesional , pleasant staff!!

I recomend this salon to my family and friends . I recieved great service and an awesome haircut!! A very pleasant experience. Very professional and friendly staff . I am very pleased and will be back for sure!! I have tried several different salons and i believe i have found the one that makes me feel like i am part of their family. You walk away feeling like they REALLY do care here. A very nice and clean establishment.

Most warm and friendly salon you will ever go to!

This is a great place to bring the whole family.It is professional yet everyone knows you by name and greets you accordingly. The atmosphere is comfy, and the color suite is private, so you can relax during your service.The upstairs area is a full service spa..nails..pedicures, massage, to name a few. It's just a fun and funky family place!
