Don't waste your money or your time
by angryteacher
Resume was provided in a non-editable format. When called, "Rick" was unhelpful at best and dishonest at worst I was told that if changes were needed re-typing my resume was the only option.
All of this was conveyed in a conversation containing references to his "tech dept." and "central facility" as he answered the phone for his full-time job (Im guessing fast-food?).
Dont quit your day job Rick!
- Pros: I needed to brush up on my typing skills anyway...
- Cons: Incompetence and Arrogance make a lousy combination
MAJOR RESULTS FOR MY BUCK!
by GoGoGadget
I first heard about A Better Resume Service through a friend of my son. He had been to this branch and found a job right away, so I thought I'd give it a look. Not convinced to use it right away, I was shown some samples, news articles featuring the company, and all of my questions were answered. Ultimately, I gave it a go. During the process, they helped me get all my information together, including many things that I never would have thought up on my own. The information gathering process was worth the price alone, because it was a great warm-up for interviews. When I came in to proofread my new resume, I was stunned with how impressive I looked on paper. I was worried that the information would be embellished, exaggerated and overblown, but it was all truthful, just presenting the best of what I have to offer an employer. This was exactly what I was looking for and I started getting calls almost immediately. Within a month, I had received about a dozen callbacks, went on six interviews and had four offers. My main problem was making a decision on which offer to take – a good problem to have.
- Pros: very knowledgeable and lots of experience
- Cons: lack of similar businesses in area for comparison
Exactly what I wanted and exactly what I needed

WORST RESUME PLACE EVER!!!!
by greyeyes
DONT USE THIS PLACE!!!!!!
I went to the Tinley Park location for a resume for an educational position. The cover letter was of a 5th grade level. They never even bothered to tell me I would also need a vita, probably because they did not know. The place is a joke, the guy who you deal with is the secretary/contact person/everything else... and he has this better than thou attitude as though you are not worthy of his time!
The cost is outrageous! They won't tell you about the hidden fees until you pick up your stuff and by then you are stuck!
There are plenty of other places out there that would value your business. This one does not!
Don't make the same mistake I did. I had to have my resume re-done somewhere else because the content was not up to par and when I contacted them about it, he became very defensive.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
- Pros: It was close to home
- Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE... IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE...
