Rude and inconsiderate owners and staff
by dzstephy at Citysearch
They ruined my birthday cake a year ago. I went in asking for a cake designed in the shape of a Tiffany box with airbrushing and bow. One of the staff members at first was very patient and great to work with. He did a sketch and told me that everything could be done by my birthday. The price I was quoted was a bit steep but I did not mind because of the custom design of the cake as well as the fact that the bakery was new to the neighborhood. I paid my deposit and looked forward to picking it up. On the day I went to pick up the cake, the staff member who had helped me was literally hiding from me in the back of store as I called him. He would not even make eye contact with me. Instead, I was greeted by the two owners. The female owner was belligerent. She greeted me by telling me that her staff member had charged me too little for the cake. I told her I did not mind paying more if the cake looked half way decent. But when she showed me the cake, I wanted to cry over how horrible it looked. The ribbon was all smashed up. The letter looked like a child had done it. Horrible. Thus, an argument ensued and escalated. I demanded my money back and she refused to hear it. She even called me stupid. I was very upset. I ended up having to spend the rest of the morning trying to find a birthday cake for my party. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I hope this can be of help to some other potential clients. I did not even want to put 1 star but had to!
- Pros: Beautiful looking cakes on display
- Cons: Bad communication, poorly trained staff
Delicious wedding cake

They made us a lovely wedding cake, just the way we wanted it, and delivered it right on time. Everyone loved it! A little pricey but worth it if you want to be sure of quality. Owners were nice, too! :-)

Exquisite

Beautiful - presentation, ambience, location...all of it. I walked into a captivating smell of freshly baked goodies and various displays of elegant cakes. I was just trying to soak it all in, but I knew that one visit wouldn't be enough. With a few dollars in my hand, I tried the macaroons, the petite pistachio cookies and sugar cookies. Go for the macaroons and pistachio cookies, which are like little cookie clouds that disappear into thin air once they rest on your tongue.
- Pros: location, aroma
