A solid experience

Home Carpet One provided common area carpeting for our 12 unit condominium building. HC1 was always on time, provided several options each with a detailed quote, was respectful of the decision making process and offered the best price all in a transparent manner. I wish every one of our service providers were this easy and reliable to deal with and provided such good value. Its also great when dealing directly with the President of the company.
- Pros: Reliable, responsive, friendly, and good pricing
- Cons: None that I can think of
Top Notch
by TerrenceB at Citysearch
I can't say enough about working with Mark Gusti and the team at Home Carper One. I was ordering new slate flooring long distance from Baghdad, and the HC1 crew could not have been anymore accomodating. Oscar and hisd crew did one beautiful job of installing the floor and cleaned up the place like it belonged to them. I would gladly recommend their services and products any time.
- Pros: Responsive service / Quality workmanship
No, no, NO!
by corkedoff at Citysearch
I wish I could give zero stars -- extremely disappointing. Because I don't know much about flooring I chose this place instead of a big chain. I was interested in cork for the entrance area and TV room of my house -- I specifically told the salesperson the cork was for these areas, telling him I had kids, dogs, etc. Cork's not cheap but I was trying to do the right thing environmentally. He said it was just like hardwood -- some wear and tear would show but I could refinish. Flash forward just three years and the expensive cork looks HORRIBLE. Worn and the seams between tiles buckling in some areas. They sent a nice installer out to look at it who told me, no, cork CANNOT be refinished and that it's pretty delicate/soft stuff that should have never been installed in a high traffic area. You can't replace just the damaged sections because the colors won't match. I basically have to replace the WHOLE FLOOR. After only three years. A huge ripoff -- the kind of uninformed, shoddy service I'd expect from Home Depot. Anything to make the sale, I guess, and I'm out thousands. Terribly, terribly disappointing and I caution you to try someplace else.

This is our 5th time purchasing from Home Carpet One! The selection is 2nd to none and the sales personnel are knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Easy to get to and easy street parking. We would highly recommend this store to anyone.
outstanding selection and service

I was very impressed with the knowledgeable salesman, who helped me choose from a huge selection of carpets. He gave me really valuable information and guidelines about the various carpets so i could choose what would work best for our needs. And the tile selection in the store was amazing. I was extremely pleased with the installation, too. The job was done quickly and professionally. I love it! I would go back there again in a heartbeat.
Fast and friendly customer service

I have not yet gone to their store, but based upon the fast and friendly response over the phone, service is great. I found a product through them that I had been unable to find elsewhere.
Knowledgeable clerk
by summersday at Citysearch
After being ignored and lied to in other stores, I discovered Home Carpet One. There I found the tile I had previously been told was "not available." And, Rosie Flores was very helpful in figuring the square footage of the various tile choices I needed. The price was in the high end of my price range, but I saved the $40 delivery charge by picking it up myself.
Rosie was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. It was a relief! Rude, unknowledgeable and unhelpful clerks have us running to the web for our purchases these days.
- Pros: choices, quick delivery
- Cons: parking
no need to consult anyone else

Great place for tile, flooring and carpet
by Mullendore at Citysearch
As a design firm, we highly recommend Home Carpet One. They have a great selection of tile, carpet and hardwood floors to choose from. The service is A+. Meaghan Leavy is quick, responsive and knowledgeable regarding everything from materials to installation. Be sure to use them on your small and large projects...and anything in between.

i'm an interior designer in chicago and have worked with Rosie Flores @ HC1 since the very first day. its hard in this business to find a company and a salesperson that works with you honestly and wholeheartedly and bends over backwards to see the project thru -- its even better when their product offerings and price are competitive with any other showroom in the area. there are very few companies that i find completely irreplaceable in my business -- most are a dime a dozen -- but HC1 and especially Rosie are the exception. Outside of her knowledge on the subject and her products (tell her what you want and she can point you in the right direction), her positive attitude and laid-back approach makes it easy to work with her. and when problems arise, i know that she'll work w/me to figure out a solution. she's a gem and i'm lucky to have her on my team.
- Pros: easy to browse thru all the different products. good hours.
