my experience with edo sushi has been pretty good so far. food is great and the service is excellent. especially you can't beat the price! the menu includes traditional japanese favorites and chef's special rolls.
Lincoln Park sushi lovers hit this quiet, tasteful storefront for fresh, bargain-priced Japanese fare.

In Short
The best seats in this small, pleasantly decorated dining room are at the sushi bar, where sushi chefs churn out artfully presented maki and nigiri. Specialty rolls include the Santa Fe with shrimp tempura, Boston lettuce, cucumber and avocado with spicy may; and Rock 'N Roll maki with broiled eel, crispy salmon skin, spinach, cream cheese, cucumber, baby radish and tobiko. A couple dozen nigiri choices include yellowtail, red snapper, flounder and surf clam.
Awful Sushi

I ate their lunch special and the Sushi was absolutely horrible! The fish was from the bad part of the fish, as it tasted stringy like threads of sewing thread. I find it hard for anybody to believe this place has good sushi. Maybe the cheap lunch special was a reason for the poor quality, but nevertheless a restaurant should never serve food that is not fresh. I will definitely never eat here again.
- Cons: poor quality, not fresh, not prepared well
Small and out dated
by bethmontgomery
I read the few reviews here and since I was new to the area, I'd start with the smaller restaurants and work my way up to the bigger ones. The sushi here was not fresh and was priced the same if not more than some of the bigger places on clark street. The decor was very traditional and outdated for the lincoln park area. This place is just too small (and I don't mean cozy) for my taste. I recommend any of the busier and bigger sushi restaurants on clark over this place for fresh fish.
- Pros: Service
- Cons: Small, Outdated, Old Sushi
I'll definitely be back.

Edo Sushi is a mix of simplicity and comfort, alongside service that has a unique personal touch. With their wide selection of entrees and reasonable prices to match, how could I not be satisfied? This is definitely place I plan on checking out again with my friends if Im ever in the area again.
Best Value Sushi

I live in the neighborhood where Edo Sushi is located and it is one of the restaurants that I go to often. It has great sushi for a really great price, and the service is excellent. The mood and style of the restaurant is very nice, so it is a great place to walk over with my roommate and my friends where we want to take time to have a good meal. I would definitely recommend it.
- Pros: inexpensive, good service, good sushi
Awesome Experience!!

Edo offers reasonably priced Japanese style delights in a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere. I was quite impressed by their warm welcoming and prompt services.
Food tastes great and I had a wondeful time with my friends and family.
I highly recommend it, especially for a large group family/friend dinner.

Edo Sushi had a great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. The service was prompt and the restaurant had a very quaint and comfortable feel to it. It was a great experience for good food and a very nice place for a romantic evening with your significant other. I definitely recommend it, as I have been there on several occasions and I have consistently had an enjoyable experience.
- Pros: reasonable prices, good atmosphere, good food
Great food, great prices

I've been to many Japanese restaurants in Chicago and all across America, and I must say that Edo's is one of the best, period. And on top of all of the great food, service, and atmosphere, the bill won't burn a hole in your wallet. Definitely try the sushi. It's very fresh and melts in your mouth.
This is definitely a place I will revisit again and again when I'm in town. Wish they had something like this in Philadelphia. I heard parking was a problem, but the effort will be worth it. Personally, I took a cab.
- Pros: Great food, Reasonable prices
- Cons: Parking

It was a small & very cozy restaurant. I took my date there, and the restaurant has a great ambience.
The food selection was great too. My date had a roll & I need more so I had the deluxe bento box. We were both satisfied with our food.
I'd definitely go back and recommed to my friends.

P.S. street side parking was tough. I'd either cab it or take public transportation.
- Pros: Friendly, Inexpensive, Romantic
- Cons: Parking
