Great Price, extremely cool staff. Wait is not long. The Godzilla roll is addictive. This place was my first ever sushi experience and since then has not been the only one. I eat sushi in every city and every country I visit. This is by far the best!! thanks for introducing me to sushi!!!

Obviously the people who own sushi X are giving their employees incentives to post great reviews. I am born and raised in Chicago and hands' down this place does not belong in the top ten or twenty for that matter. Their sushi is not terrible and the price is fine, but if you are an intermidate to advanced sushi eater don't waste your time. The rolls are rolled without care and almost seem like they are pre-rolled earlier that night. I ordered the spicy tuna roll from here on three diferent occasions and every time it was ovesaturated with mayonaise and the ends of the roll were hardly worth eating. If all you eat is tuna, salmon and california roll this place falls just below the average line. From a true chicago sushi lover based on quality only on recommend Meiji, Sushi Wabi or Starfish. btw, my food tastes are much more advanced then my spelling :-)
Pros: price
Cons: quality

On the outside, Sushi X looks like it's a club. Long waits, dark interior, sometimes blaring music....But this place has the best sushi! I've been hearing about this place for a while from a friend of mine saying the decor is a little off the norm but the sushi is fabulous. I recommend the Honey Roll and the Red Dragon. The pieces just melt in your mouth in a huge burst of flavor. I even liked their non sushi entrees like the Creamy Ginger Salad. AND best of all, it's BYOB. If you love sushi...this is definitely a place you should try out. Be prepared though, since it's gaining popularity, waiting for a table can take more than an hour.
Pros: Great quality food, BYOB, great atmosphere, friendly staff
Cons: Long wait for a table, parking can be difficult, not ideal for large groups

Best sushi in the city!!! The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. The decor is not the best, but they tried.

I am not a big fan of take out sushi but this place rocks. Try the spicy tuna- if you like spicy it will knock your sox off!

Awesome sushi! And the service is great. Also, it is BYOB! They have some unique rolls that are very tasty.

We went to this place, off the reviews from Citysearch. It was a bit scary walking up to it. But it ended up being a great night. The atmosphere was excellent, very friendly service, and the sushi was served promptly. The waiter recommended a few rolls and told us when to stop. Very large portions. Oh and there was a drunk women who took her shirt off! Dinner and a show! I definately recommend this place, no garuntee you will get the same show we got.

Sushi is one of the only thing's I'll eat because I'm picky...last time I was in town, my brother picked up some sushi, and it was from Sushi X....I dream about sushi from Sushi X all the way from California....trust me, I've been dying to bring my boyfriend and show him what all my bragging is about. If you do go, get the godzilla and double stack rolls...yum...
Pros: Great sushi

Certainly, Sushi X is like no other sushi restaurant I've been to. It's not exactly a restaurant inside, having only one table large enough to seat more than 2 people. Of course, that's because the entire building is about the size of my living room, so what they've done with the space is impressive. The interior is very industrial chic, and frequently has a movie playing on the large back wall. As for the sushi, it is fresh, delicious, and inventive. When I say sushi, I should specify - they only serve maki, or rolls. Nonetheless, each is well crafted and uses many unique combos, like the godzilla roll. Definitely good for take out or a casual evening out.
Pros: inventive food, unique atmosphere, entertainment
Cons: tiny, no real service
