I'm not impressed!

Bar on Buena is a decent bar for a neighborhood lacking in the bar scene. It is usually crowded and there is not much seating. The wait staff is slow, sometimes rude and not too knowledgeable on the variety of beers they carry. The food is just a bit better than your typical bar fare but not worth the wait. All in all I would say if you live in the area give it a try but don't expect much. And if you don't live in the area...DON'T BOTHER.

• Pros: the grilled cheese on garlic bread
• Cons: the service and the waitresses

Best Neighborhood Bar

The Bar on Buena is absolutely the best neighborhood bar anywhere in Chicago. The people who work there are very friendly, always remember you, and the food is great too. Very intimate setting , cozy, relaxing, great beer selections, the best Ketel One Dirty Martini's in the city and also only $6.00. Food is great, not real pricey. Just go already, go and experience it.

Chill Uptown Hangout

If not for their sign hanging from the building (barely visible with the leaf season upon us), you'd almost fail to notice the Bar on Buena exists.

The Bar on Buena offers an above average beer selection, a legit jukebox, and a pretty darn good burger and fries. Best of all - unlike other bars in Uptown - they offer Delirium Tremens.

Great neighborhood hang

This relaxed atmosphere of this bar keeps me coming back. Good bar food, love the hummus. Excellent beers, Hoegaarden and Stella on tap. Service can be slow, but if you are sitting back and enjoying yourself, what does it matter? Good jukebox selections and they roll down the big screen for the sports games. I watched the NCAA final here and it was great.

• Pros: beer selection, atmosphere
• Cons: slow service

Great place

This neighborhood has been craving a place like this. The food is great and inventive for a bar. I think it's a good value and priced equivalently to any other place like it. Give it a try!
