DO NOT GO HERE on a special day. Try not to EVER go at all. Worst restaurant experience in my life, and it happened on a Valetine's Day. Since the new owner came in, this has go down, down down. Very, I mean very bad service. He is not French at all. We waited for a table for like 30 minutes, while there were 3 empy tables that we could see. I told the Hostess (who was the only polite person there) and she told the owner, who while leaning on the wall, told us to sit. He tries to do everything, and he just cannot. It took us another 20 minutes to order the food. He pretended to be bussy, and was telling some people that there was no meat, while we had beef. Very rude guy, and he STINKS... believe me, he smells realy bad. Total A-hole. When I asked to validate the parking (which he told me to use) he gave me a sarcastic smile, and left the table talking softly... He came back with the validated parking, to make it even worse, he told us that is was "$6 for the parking, it is much better than $20, right?" I think he was just jelaous, because I was with my beautiful girlfriend, for 5 years, and we kept laughing at the things he did, instead of getting mad at his unpolite manners. This is the first time I give a bad review for a restaurant in Chicago. Do yourself a favor, don't go. If you go, let me know your experience, but Le Petit Paris and his owner just STINK.

Pros: Food somewhat acceptable...

Cons: Service, Service, Service

A fine french restaurant. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was exceptional. The chef visited our table often to make sure we were pleased with our selections.

We dined at this charming, warm restaurant and felt like we were in Paris! This used to be Zavens, which we loved - we were delighted to find the new owners had not only filled Zaven's shoes, but made them better! The service is unflaggingly good, and achieves that delicate balance of professional AND warm. The food was flawless, and to top it off there was a jazz singer/piano player providing the perfect accompaniment to such a great evening. The restrooms are a treat in themselves - the art is adorable. Try this romantic gem!

Pros: food quality, great service, great music

This dark, old-school French restaurant is hidden in a Streeterville residential building.  See the full editorial review.
