It was a freezing cold night, a perfect Chcago winter night. I couldn't wait to get out of the wind and get back to the hotel, but the bright light of a shop drew my eyes in. The sight of rows and rows of perfectly constructed chocolates drew in my heart, and so without thought, my feet followed. He came right over, but I stayed him with a smile. "I'm not going to get anything," I said, "I just want to look." He must have heard this before, because he just smiled right back. Truffles of every flavor, dusted and coated and decorated with color, blocks of chocolate filled with fruit like pomegrantes, blueberry and mango, chocolates formed as pyramids, tut, santa and trees. "How to choose?" I thought. I'd already moved past my initial denial. Mouth melting chocolates with unheard of flavors that tantalize and delight. Later when you get home and choose that one, you won't remember what it was and be surprised and pleased all over again as exquisite chocolate fills your senses. What a delightful, delicious find on that cold winter night. A taste to remember for a long time to come. Packaged for gifting in perfect handmade paper boxes.
