Energize Sports Massage is the real deal for athlete's
by JuanM595
My girlfriend suprised me with a sports massage @ Energize. I had been to a local Andersonville spa & was not impress.I really wanted a real deep tissue massage by a real therapist. I look up Anthony & Energize on the net, great reviews & what sold me is that he was a former college athlete & ex trainer plus he works out of his home studio & was walking distance. Very professional, he know about different sports which put me at ease, a real jock male who knows sports & muscle injuries. Massage room very comfortable & relaxing.Stretch therapy, deep tissue, pressure in point, excellent, Hamsting treatment, 4 stars. Rate are great , You receive 4 therapy treatments for the price of one, fantastic. This guy is the real deal if you are a serious athlete.
- Pros: Deep Tissue, Sports, Runner Stretch Exercise is the best,
- Cons: Call early, Same day appointments are not guarantee
Are You A Athlete with Hamstring Problems?
by ChrizZ
Having seen Mr. Anthony four times in the last 2 months & becoming pain & stress free, I'd highly recommend him to anyone. I am a professional soccer player & in need of regular stretch-leg/ hamstrings & glutes treatment
The first time I saw him for my lower back & hamstring/ groin injuries from playing soccer, I thought I had an idea what the problem was, and told him so. Anthony thoughtfully listened, then proceeded to perform a comprehensive evaluation--more than I'd ever had at a Spa & just your basic massage therapist with no type of sports massage training in the past. He explained to me why I was experiencing pain, gave me info on what type of massage treatment/ stretch exercises to make the pain better, The treatment-regular plan he would undertake & to put me on a schedule. After a few sessions, the pain subsided. I've occasionally had flare ups, but because I knew what was causing the pain, I am able to correct the problem myself. I like most who had never had a professional massage therapy thought that after one session that the pain would disappear. But common sense, it does take three or four regular session to see the results and to give your muscles the physcial therapy it needs to heal correctly.
I recently returned from long, hard trip in Europe & Asia, and felt like I'd been struck by a bus. Keep in mind I am only 30, in shape & play soccer regularly. I thought about going to a spa for a massage, but decided to see Dr. Anthony, because a lot of the pain was actually in my joints. Once again, he started by checked me out--even for things that I wasn't complaining about. He did an adjustment & work on me for a little while. No lie, an hour later, I was totally pain free. Can't ask for anything better than that. Located in a great area in Andersonville, His home/office studio is very relax, Massage room very sereal & comfortable.Call & reserve early, especially on weekends. I highly recommed to use his website & RSVP through Pay Pal.Great rates for first timers & I like his promo on giving each client FREE sports water bottles.Very professional & show he cares for his clients.
- Pros: Very knowledge, relax atmosphere, a therapist who cares,
- Cons: Call early to RSVP, Energize is in high demands ,Parking

I first encountered Anthony of Energize Sports Massage at a hockey tournament. He was one the massage therapist who help the college teams. The few minutes I spent with Anthony convinced me that I had found a therapist who was skilled & that could address the various muscle issues I've acquired playing ice hockey. I've subsequently had various sports/ stretch, hot/ cold therapy tendon & muscle sessions and can state that Dr. Reeves found the the source of the problem I'm experiencing, work on it, and make it possible for me to return to the ice. One person here mentioned the need to invest in one's body, and I would have to agree. It is not inexpensive, but anything as helpful as this is worth it. I have been to different Spa's, stripmall-massage businesses, and they don't cut it when it comes to providing the informed, professional service an athelete needs, so I recommend Energize Massage to everyone
- Pros: , great atmosphere, great neighborhood in Andersonville, Rates are the best on the northside , not over priced as most spa's are with lilttle skills in sports massage.
- Cons: Just be on time, others have appointments
If you are Running in the Marathon & having leg & muscle pain, I Highly recommend Anthony & Energize Sports Massage in Andersonville
by Patrick12
I am running in this year's Bank of America Marathon, I have been in training for the last 3 months. I did not know there were limited sports massage therapist on the northside, especially therapist who are trained in Runners/Stretch therapy. I went to a couple of places, "Do not waste your time at Spa's, high rates and all you get is a swedish massage..I did a search on Citysearch and located Anthony & Energize. I read his reviews which are excellent, but still i had my doubts. I called Anthony,he was with a client, but promise to call back in 30 mins. He did and after a very knowledgeable conversation on sports, he mention he was a track runner in college & ran the marathon 7 years ago. After explaing my tendonitis & lower back pain, He took me in on the same day and I had the Sports/runners combo. Guys it was excellent, the reflexology, the leg stretch, hot/ cold treatment, deep tissue, what I also like,Anthony takes the time to listen, and focus on the area of pain.Read his website to convince you, but if you are a serious runner, then Give this guy a call, Thanks for great customer service,
- Pros: A Runners therapist who knows the muscle-leg tendon structure of the body, I like how his home office is set up, very comfortable
- Cons: If you are a serious runner, call early to RSVP, I guarantee, he will be booked as the Marathon date get closer,Parking on weekends can he diffcult, just run to appointment & save the headache
If you want a quality sports massage, Anthony is your man
by chadsommer
At the end of July I did my first half-ironman triathlon and unfortunately did not stretch properly during the days afterward leaving my legs (knees in particular) seized-up, and in a fair amount of pain. I found Anthony online as I was desperately looking for a proper sport massage. Anthony did a great job getting my legs loose enough to begin stretching properly. 2 weeks later I did a second half-ironman and visited Anthony within a few hours of finishing the race to get a massage and stretch. I wish I did that after the 1st race, because my legs feel much better.
If you want a quality sports massage, Anthony is your man. Highly recommended especially for marathons and triathlons.

If you are training for the marathon and seek a professional Runner's/Repair massage, I Highly recommend Anthony & Energize Sports Massage
by Carlos1463
Just an athletic male who is training for the October Marathon and was seeking a licensed therapist who knows abouts leg/muscle therapy[stretching-reflexology, runner's repair] I did a lot of search and was suprise there are very few licensed male therapist who do professional sports massage therapy. I use Citysearch and came with only two, when I got there one was a spa on foster ave, which the therapist knew nothing about sports or stretch exercise. When I asked him questions on tendon, leg muscle tissue, he had this blanked look. and I was not looking for a male social party standing in towels, just a real massage. I got lucky, a guy who was also a runner, told me about Anthony & Energize Sports Massage. I looked up Energize in Andersonville on Citysearch and read his reviews which were from real athlete's. I also looked up Anthony in AMTA, which he & his business are listed and I knew I struck gold.Just by our conversation, and with him being a avid runner & Cyclist, he knew what therapy to use . I like the home office set, the massage room is very relaxing, aromatherapy perfect. He makes you feel very comfortable, His website very professional & knowledgeable. The massage experience was the best, He has a sports/runners massage combo[Sports-stretch, hot towel, deep tissue, body wash, you just relax on the massage table and get pamper] I was so relax I just balance on the massage table for 10 mins to soak in the whole experience. no muscle pain..The reviews are very real, and I see why he is in demand. Getting a licensed/straight/sports therapist on the northside is rare, getting one who takes his work seriously and is 100% concern about you, and receiving a e-mail of thanks and a appreciation gift, well I am sold. Thanks guy, I hope this review will get you double new clients
- Pros: A Licensed male therapist with knowledge of sports therapy, Straight & Family man, shows real concern about your health, rates are very reasonable, Andersonville, what a great area
- Cons: He is the only true runners.sports therapist in Andersonville/northside that i have found, Weekends have been booked because of the marathon, i recommed call early in the week

by Marc60640
It is very diffcult locating a professional massage therapist with the knowledge of sports injuries and treating tendon & muscle ache. Especially if you are a male athlete, seeking a licensed male therapist on the northside that is professional & non-sexual. I did a search on City Search and saw ENERGIZE and decided to click on Anthony website. Quite impressive/professional. I decide to give this guy a call and just by the conversation I knew I had found my massage therapist. Anthony is a avid sports fan so if you are into baseball, football, and have the basic jock injuries, he is you guy, he played college ball. The rates are very reasonable, His 85 min. Athletic combo package is the best, great deep tissue & reflexology.Plus receiving a free gym bag after the session, WOW what a promo for new clients, Did not have a gym bag & I really needed one. The fact he is very caring for his clients and just getting tokens gifts, even the high class establishment spa's can't even give away a free pencil. I like the home base office, the room is very relaxing, & after you fill out client info. form, Anthony goes over ever detail deciding on the best therapeutic treatment. You are not rush. I will be a regular client. If you are serious in working out, training and need your own personal massage therapist, call this guy and save yourself a headache .
- Pros: Expert is Sports, Deep Tissue, stretch therapy, Never had a steam facial, but I will from this point on, Andersonville is a great area, a good beer after your massage will complete your day
- Cons: Call early, Friday & Saturdays are diffcult, Anthony works for himself and is in demand this time of year, I highly recommed calling early to RSVP
For Men in Sports who seeks an Professional Licensed Sports Massage Therapist,I highly recommed Energize in Andersonville
by Gary1122
I did not know how hard it would be to seek a male licensed sports therapist on the northside would be. I am a active athlete and train at least 3 times a week. I have a personal trainer who suggested that I seek a personal massage therapist with knowledge of Sports/Muscle-Tendon therapy. Seems easy especially with all the health clubs in Lakeview & Lincoln Park. In Health clubs the therapist mostly give swedish massage, many know that Deep Tissue, Sports massage takes a lot of work & energy and refuse to do this therapy. I am a muscular guy and take harder deep tissue. I had seen ENERGIZE on the internet and read ANthony's reviews and thought I would give him a try. The conversation was professional, his rates are reasonable, and the 85 min. Sports/Deep Tissue was the best, very strong hands & elbow therapy. I like the home office atmosphere, very relaxing and he is a total sports fan, I think we talked Cubs/Sox & Bears for about 1/2 hour, he knows his sports. Anthony is a ex jock/Trainer so it was so refreshing to explain what was hurting and he knew the problem of my hamstring & lumbar back problem. His qualification are in full view. He also did a yoga/thai stretch on my back that cracked and my god the pain disappeared.Anthony is a family man like myself, not to many straight male therapist on the northside that is licensed or even played any sports.
After the session, and i knew I had finally found my personal therapist, he suggest the VIP massage package. I also got a gym bag which I really needed and did not expect nothing of that quality. This Guy knows how to run a true massage business of total standards and puts the clients needs first, now that's rare!!!!
For you male athlete's who seek a personal massage therapist, Give Energize & Anthony a try, you will not be disappointed
- Pros: Highly Professional, Expert in Sports, Deep Tissue, Muscle Stretch, Clean.relax atmosphere, Finally a male licensed sports massage therapist on the northside who is straight
- Cons: Word is getting around about Energize & Anthony, Saturday are very busy, he is in high demand, Call early to reserve,
A Real Sports Massage Therapist in Andersonville that is not Overprice,Check out ENERGIZE
by Sean1444
I have been in search for a real licensed therapist in the northside area. I have tried several so call therapist who said they knew the art of Deep Tissue/Trigger Point. I tried those spas & health club with no luck. The therapist seem more on rush for time & money than the therapy I was seeking. I just about gave up on this, until I saw Energize. I had seen Anthony ad on the websites and after reading his reviews on Citysearch, I decide to take one more try. Well I finally struck gold.Even in conversation by his professional approach on muscle & tendon strain, I knew that this guy would understand the sports massage I was seeking. His home office is in the heart of Andersonville, great area. The massage room is very relaxing, fireplace in the room and a heated massage table. You fill out a client application and then Dr. Anthony will go over and suggest the massage that best fits your needs. He could have suggested something of a higher rate, but he sugggest their new client sports massage, which was perfect. You are not pressured. The best part, You receive a Gym bag. which I needed, First time I ever receive anything from a therapist, What a great business & excellent customer service. Best Deep Tissue , and yes I will be a regular client. I hope when you read this, that you will give Energize a try. and see what a great therapist Anthony is.
