What happened to this wonderful place!

Did the original owners bail out on this Southside gem? We went to dinner on Sat. 9/29/07. We were seated promptly, which is really unusual as this place used to be packed all the time. We should have taken that as a prelude to what was to come. No sharks in the "shark tank." We were told they outgrew the tank, no mention if they had purchased new sharks. Large tropical fish in their place. The waitstaff used to be very knowledgeable about wine, we had a high school aged girl as our server who didn't know much about wine of course. All the bar staff's wine recommendations were the most expensively priced wines, and as everyone knows, it doesn't have to be expensive to be good. Our bread came and it was stale and overtoasted. Their pinapple bread used to be fresh and very moist. This was as dry as biscotti. When it came time to order, they were out of everything, filets, lobster, tilapia. How could a restaurant be out of everything at 8:00 at night. It was homecoming that evening, and that could have explained all the mishaps, but we could still tell that things were different. Anyway, our dinner arrived cold and undercooked. How can you undercook fish? We asked to speak to a manager, and it took about 15 minutes for the manager to come over, 15 minutes for a manager to come talk to complaining customers in an empty restaurant is unheard of. She took one entree off our bill. We then retreated into the bar, which used to have live entertainment, but did not. The manager was there and told the bartender to give us anything we wanted. Her martini came with no olives in it, and when she asked for some, the bartender said he forgot. How can you forget olives in a martini? My Bailey's and coffee was ice cold and the coffee tasted like it sat there all day. Plus the "chefs" were in the bar drinking beer, very unprofessional. This used to be our favorite spot, don't know what happened to this place, but will not be returning.

Pros: Ambiance

Cons: Undercooked food, out of main staples
