Unique So Chique Tea & Chocolat

I love this place – I never thought of myself as a tea person, but after attending a baby shower tea at Unique So Chique, I am now hooked. What a delightful place this is – super friendly staff, great service, and truly delicious food. My favorites are the finger sandwiches with apricot and walnut, and the prosciutto with herbed goat cheese. For sweets, you can’t beet the apricot orange and butterscotch coconut scones. And did I mention the fabulous chocolate truffles!? I am anxious to go back and try some of the other goodies offered. There’s also a delightful shop attached to the tea room – great for gifts of all kinds. I highly recommend Unique So Chique as both a tea room and a venue for unique gifts. Just all in all, a wonderful experience.

I had to write in to let everyone know about my experience at Unique So Chique. I have been to alot of tea and chocolate rooms and this one by far beats the Drake. The Drake is very good ,however, this little tea room has so much personaltiy and a customer is made to feel at home. Very friendly atmosphere, awesome tea and truffles not to mention the toffee that simply melts in your mouth. I almost forgot to tell you about the warm apple tart and the cheese cake. WOW!!! Once again I can not say it enough how it all just melts in your mouth. I have read the reviews and please do not listen to the negative reviews. The ladies from the big party really need to quit being childish, really think about what happened that day and take some of the responsibility for their trip not going so smooth. They should have had a contract and and arrived at the time they were supposed to. They should also know that a tea room is not going to serve you a huge meal, shame on the trips coordinator for dropping the ball. I have made a reservation to have a bridal shower with this establishment and I can't wait to go back. Thanks to Unique So Chique for my family's wonderful experience I will be ordering alot from you!!! It is worth the 4 hour trip that I have to drive to get to this establishment.!

Pros: Very neat little shop and tea room my very favorite one! Great servie and the quality of food and deserts are excellent.

Cons: I live 4 hours from this place or I would be there alot!

I went to this place as a group of 30. We had reservations...we were 30 minmutes early and they were not ready. At no point did they come up with hot tea. For 30 people they presented 4 pots of luke warm tea. so 16 servings were supposed to make it all around. The food was skimmpy, average to below average in quality. Our tour guide called to ask me to post my feelings about the shop because the owner had called to complain to her about other bad reviews from people he felt were on our trip. For an outrageous price we got maybe $3.00 worth of tea and tea snacks. The place was not good at all...maybe because of spending too much time reading the reviews. Spend a little more time on food prep and hot water for tea. Clean the shop and tables. Make tea a better experience and better reviews will naturally follow. I think the other 29 people on the trip felt it was awful as well. The owner should have left well enough alone...no reviews are better than asking for them and getting honestly disappointed customers to vent when they would not have if not prompted.

Pros: hard for me to think of a pro

Cons: Not enough value, fun, class.

We went to tea and were so disappointed. Cool to luke warm tea. Finger sandwiches that were below average. Scones were hard as a rock and served with a tiny dab of clotted cream. Very below average service. Tacky china and dirty table linens. DO not go to tea here if you have ever been to a really good tea at one of the downtown hotels or department stores. This one will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Pros: can's think of one reason to go

I live literally 2 blocks from Unique So Chique and was excited to have friends in town to take them to afternoon tea. The atmosphere is really cute and our server was really nice and knowledgeable, but the menu was strikingly overpriced -- $15 for the exotic tea service which was basically just 3 quarter sandwiches (delicious but only 2 bites worth of chicken with apricot and walnut, prosciutto (out of prosciutto actually so we got a smoked ham instead) with herbed goat cheese, and layered trio of cheeses with a lemon honey and extra virgin olive oil spread), 2 dollar sized scones (also very small but delicious and served with wonderful cream and jam), 2 truffles (excellent), and 3 small cups of tea (we had the ginger peach -- very good). I would highly recommend the afternoon tea experience to anyone, but might seek out another place where the portions are more reasonable for the price.

I worked on a benefit that had trouffles from Unique So Chique-OMG! Wow, i couldn't leave the table! The best part is, if you stop in for a gift, you can pick a couple up for yourself at the store. The baby gifts are also the most unique (no pun intended) items i've seen across the city.

Pros: The staff is so friendly

Cons: parking varies but is usually ok

I worked with Rob at Unique So Chique to get hand-made jewelry for my bridesmaids. He worked with some local designers and got me some pieces that were EXACTLY what I described. He was willing to work with me until the final product was perfect and even mailed them to my home so I wouldn't have to make an extra trip into the city. Furthermore, he was genuinely kind and grateful for my business and the entire experience was wonderful. The bridesmaids loved the jewelry, I felt I received great service, and I would HIGHLY recommend Unique So Chique to anyone who is looking for that personal touch.

i had tea at unique so chic and was severely disappointed. i spent $16 on the largest tea service, but the scones were about the size of a fifty-cent piece (and came with lemon curd, but no jam), and there was no milk for the tea, which steeped to the point of bitterness. perhaps you might enjoy the "atmosphere" of sitting in a tiny room at the back of a store, but i found the setup less than charming.

Pros: surrounding area has a lot to offer

Unique So Chique is a great place to eat, shop then shop a little more. I was visiting Chicago soon after Unique So Chique just opened and I've been hooked ever since. Honestly, I'm in the store every time I'm in Chicago. Brunch is great. There's a nice selection of menu items to choose from and I've never walked away hungry. The service is great and I've never felt rushed to make a selection. I can just go there and relax. Plus it's a great place to catch up with friends. Now the store itself is a lot of fun to shop. I usually end up buying several cool t-shirts and jeans, along with baby/kids books, stuffed animals, and other cool toys you can't buy in a 'box' store. Overall, I would give the place an A+. To bad there isn't a store like Unique So Chique in Kansas City.

This store is quaint and the service is incredible. I enjoy just stopping in to see the new merchandise. I love the message tees and they are the going trend if you are up on fashion. They have great designer names and wonderful food. The brunch menu is great! Stop in and support this local store.
