GREAT food!

When I moved from the westside to the northside there were few things I was going to miss as much as Picante. Much to my pleasure, the restaurant followed me less than a year later. The scrumptiousness of their food is hard to express - it's simple but decadent. As a vegetarian I have a hard time finding Mexican restaurants that serve food I'll eat that doesn't weigh me down, both literally and figuratively. The black bean tacos are great without causing too much guilt.
The guacamole can be a gamble - when avocados are not in season they tend to use too much filler, as many restaurants do - but when it's good, it's very good. I order it almost every time I'm there.
My only large complaint would be the the inconsistency in delivery. Sometimes when I call they'll deliver to me, sometimes I'm told I'm outside their delivery range (by a block). Lately they haven't had a driver. If they clear this up, they'll be set.
- Pros: food, price
- Cons: delivery inconsistently available, small seating area (more of a take out place)
Tiny, late-night taqueria on Lincoln Avenue serves authentic Mexican bites.

In Short
The red and green chili peppers on the sign hanging above the door catches the eye as you walk down Lincoln Avenue. Inside, a handful of high-topped tables and a counter with stools provide seating. The menu features traditional Mexican snack foods--tacos, quesadillas and tortas--along with a few other options like burritos, fajitas and enchiladas. Soft-shelled tacos are served with lettuce, tomato, onion and cilantro. Fillings include steak, chicken, chorizo or pork.
