Great Classes!!
by sietse1472 at Citysearch
I took 2 classes with SLC, and was very lucky to have senor Juan Cortez as my teacher. After my introduction course, I felt that my Spanish skills definitely improved, therefore my decision to continue with the beginners course. Great classes, good materials, flexible schedule as far as re-scheduling if your agenda didn't work out. Will recommend to everyone who's interested in the Spanish language.
Muchas gracias SLC y senor Cortez!
- Pros: study materials, teacher, accomodations, value
- Cons: none
Recommended Spanish Classes

I am in my second session of Beginner classes. I feel I have learned a lot and learned it very quickly too. My teacher is very knowledgeable and has been a great teacher. She is a native speaker but also has teaching experience. The class sizes range from 1-10 people depending on how many people sign up. I started with another student and now I am by myself. Be prepared to devote a few hours to homework and vocab memorization every week. I took two years of Spanish in high school and I already feel like I have a better grasp on the language than I did then. I look forward to going to class every week because it is fun and I feel it is also highly useful. I would highly recommend Spanish Language Center.
- Pros: Parking is .25/hour in a lot, small class size, flexible scheduling
- Cons: It is expensive, but I feel it is worth it, and compared to other places, really not so bad.
La mejor escuela de espanol en Chicago!

I am a returning student at the Spanish Language Center. I took classes with them at their lakeview location for almost 2 years when they first opened. My experience was the best (as I did post an earlier review), then I did some traveling to practice my Spanish, got lazy, took a break from classes, and when I decided to come back to Spanish classes in 2006, I decided to explore other options for a change: BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART! After failed and very frustrating attempts at two other Spanish "schools," I can HONESTLY say that there is no comparison with the quality of instruction recieved at SpanishLC in comparison with the rest. Elsewhere I found much improvisation and a lack of professionalism. Spanish Language Center and its instructors have set the standards too high for me. I am now back with them, feel at home, and plan on staying with them from this point. I STRONGLY recommend anyone who is truly interested in learning Spanish to give them a try. I now take conversational classes in their downtown location which is very convenient for me. Gracias amigos de Centro de Idioma Espanol! ;-)
- Pros: professionalism, flexibility, convenient locations, warm atmosphere
- Cons: none
My Spanish improved so much!!

My classes were small and I got so much individual attention from my teachers. Re-scheduling was no problem, and I attended both in Lakeview near home and Downtown right after work. I plan on taking more classes from the spanish Language Center in the near future!
Thanks Guys!
