Awful service
by kymmgreen at Citysearch
The waitresses are slow and inattentive. Food is mediocre. Staff is only a reflection of management. Management is belligerent and hostile.
waitress FINALLY came to receive cash payment for services. Had to LITERALLY track her down for change. her response "Oh, you wanted that back?? Bill was 35.20 & all u gave me was 2 twenties--that's not even 15%. H ow much do you want back??"
manager defended her position--stated "she is best waitress we have??" Did not address the inappropriateness of her attitude-or FACT that she was going to keep a patrons change. Then stated that if we had a problem with his staff or "how" they operated we should take our business elsewhere. If that is type of hostility and service you desire--this is the place for you. SAD---location and neighborhood offers so many other possibilities than this appalling behavior.
- Pros: Its in Chicago
- Cons: staff, management, service
Decent bar
by ksAnh at Citysearch
The bar and grill is decent. Don't expect to be surprised or amused, it is a fairly good place to go.
- Pros: friendly service
- Cons: give or take experience
Great Place for Sports Fans

i've been going to Morgan's for years. it's been great to always know that you can drink on the cheap every night. there's always a special going on for both food and drinks. however, my main reason is for the screens. i love watching the games their because it's easy to get a table in clear view of the action. there are screens literally everywhere & the fact they run HD on their flat panels is a definite plus side. i know bars out there often don't invest on a true hd signal. During the NFL season, this was preferred destination. with the NBA season & March madness going on, you'll be sure to find me here.
- Pros: Tons of Flat Panels, Drinks Specials
Great Atmosphere
by joelbaze at Citysearch
I live right around the corner in University Village, and i've always enjoyed the vibe here. They have drink specials every night, and you never get that overcrowded feel. The menu is great, and I'm honestly addicted to their spinach & artichoke dip. It's amazing. Their pizza is also surpisingly fresh and tasty, and you can get $5 bucks off with a student ID. I love to get there on Wii Wednesdays, because my friends and love to play after a few rounds of drinks. That's always fun. Overall, i enjoy the upbeat atmosphere, the great menu, and the good drinks. I always have an awesome time at Morgan's.
- Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great Food
The Worst Ever
by restadventure at Citysearch
This is the worst establishment that I have experienced in quite some time. It took a 15-20 min to get a server who never introduced herself by name nor did she inform us about the drink or food specials. Our appetizers took 30 minutes to come out and it was cold. After I finished my first drink, I ordered 2 drinks on the menu which I was informed that they did not have not the ingredients to make the martini though the server provided us with the full martini menu with the drinks listed. The server occasionally revisited our table. My Shrimp PoBoy was extremely salty and very dry. When our bill came, gratuity was automatically added because we spent over $50 which meant it is automatically added regardless of the service. The manager and server wanted to debate my opinion of the service and food experience. Surprisely the manager informed us that our server was their top server which is hard to believe. Don't waste your time.
- Pros: It's a Sports Bar so there are a lot of men
- Cons: Service, Management & Food

In Short
Located at the former heart of the city's vanished Maxwell Street market, this spacious bar offers something for most, with two dozen beers on tap, including choice imports like Paulaner, Trumer and Grolsch, and an extensive food menu. UIC college students and locals mix it up at the long ranks of four top tables and standing drink rails radiating from the large 36-stool bar. Sports and top twenty music videos alternate on omnipresent tv monitors.
A true dissapointment
by eh1 at Citysearch
I have been in twice and it continues to get worse. The staff is a group of mismanaged college students with no idea of what they should be doing. The food is below average even for bar grub, and the space is tan on beige. Being a local I was looking forward to our new neighborhood bar...I will not return.
- Pros: Only thing in UV
- Cons: Staff , Food, Ambience
