Guys Place For A Reason
by ChicagoDuder
I haven't been here yet, but will be going today. I visited City Search to hear what folks have to say, and man...Personally, I AM a guy, and when I shop I don't like retail associates being "salesy" with me. I'd just as soon have them say hello, if even that, and let me do my shopping in peace. I think most GUYS are this way too. If you need your ego boosted when buying a $200 pair of jeans you're not really that much of a guy. Oh yeah, GUYS don't buy "cute" jeans. We love you Jake Girls...from a GUY.
Jeans are awesome! Staff very helpful and pretty....

I went to Jake while I was shopping around rush st. and oh my g-d what a cool store. I was going to check out the other stores but I said "Forget it!" this is it. I found these new cool pair of Kasil Jeans which are awesome and the staff really went out of there way to help me. They knew I was a big guy and help direct me to clothes that would look great on me and they did!! very cool, very hip, very friendly and without a doubt my new store! Everybody is doing the Jake yea yea yea!
- Pros: All Unique and Cool Brands! Great Service! Cool Staff
- Cons: Nothing, Rock Stars all the way!
Skip the attitude, shop elsewhere

I visited Jake on Rush Street while shopping for a pair of jeans last weekend. I walked in and the place was empty except for two other customers. I made my way through each rack of clothes and neither of sales people working even acknowledged me along the way. I looked over at one sales girl and she was just standing there staring like I wasn't even there. The other one went out of her way to acknowledge a wealthy looking couple who was in the store. Trouble is, the wealthy "looking" couple was not about to shell out $200 for a pair of denim. I, the t-shirt and jeans sporting college student was however. So I went a block down to Suggar Magnolia and got a cute pair. Thanks for nothing Jake girls!
- Pros: nice clothing lines, location
- Cons: judgemental staff, service stinks, not worth it
What an amazing shopping experience!!!!

The best staff by all. I walked into the store to browse and walked out with an entire winter wardrobe. The most incredible staff ever. I felt like I've been shopping with them forever. They've not only dressed me but filled me in with the best places to dine and wine in the city. I just love the store and will tell everyone about it.
- Pros: great staff, great clothe, great store
Lesser-known designers get exposure at this hip downtown boutique.
by Valerie Moloney
In Short
The hot Southport boutique gets a trendy sister in the Gold Coast. This shop--a little more upscale than the original location and more collection than denim driven--spotlights under-the-radar designers such as 3.1 by Philip Lim, Doo.Ri, Neil Barret, Saddlelites and Nudie Jeans. Collections from Beatrix Ong and Loeffler Randall should keep shoe addicts from hitting other boutiques downtown.
