A Disappointment

by Misc26 at Citysearch

The food here was definitely a disappointment. Our soups arrived cold, a third of the muscles we ordered were closed. The crab cakes were bland and chewy. Thank goodness the wine selection was excellent. As for the service, it was adequate, but slow.

Great food, drinks and atmosphere

by foost at Citysearch

We've visited Dine a number of times now and it's been a great addition to the west loop. The food has always been terrific, with big portions and very reasonable prices. If you are looking for comfort food, they have a lot of choices but give the macaroni and cheese side a try. We've had nothing but attentive, fast service in a comfortable atmosphere. We'll be back soon.

  • Pros: Comfort Food, Great Service

Food was great -- Service was so-so

by dianfranc at Citysearch

Went to Dine for Easter brunch. The food and atmosphere were very good but the service left a LOT to be desired. We arrived to a hostess that appeared bored and annoyed that she had to check our reservation and show us to a table. Our waiter was extremely slow to bring beverages and responded to our requests by saying "when I get a minute." Remember, this was brunch -- he didn't have to serve and beverage service was about all he had to do. We had to wait so long for coffee to have with dessert that we flagged down a waiter from a different area who was so attentive to us after bringing our intiial request for coffee, that we slipped him an additional tip on the way out. The food was excellent, but we'd have to think twice about chancing the service when thinking about returning.

South Loop hotel restaurant revises comfort-food favorites with unexpected ingredients.

by Valerie Moloney at Citysearch

The Scene
Floor-to-ceiling windows and earth tones warm up this contemporary South Loop restaurant anchoring the Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Hotel. Up front, a separate lounge with a horseshoe-shaped banquette invites diners to sip martinis, but few do before being seated. Burgundy leather booths and tables line the inner and windowside walls on the first floor, while steps lead up to a second dining room overlooking a busy, exhibition kitchen.

The Food
Home cooking achieves a modern twist at this upscale diner and martini bar. Familiar starters such as crispy calamari are fired up with jalapeno batter, while quesadillas take on smoky notes with a layer of gouda. Hearty appetites will savor thick, moist meatloaf atop truffled seared spinach and mashed potatoes or creamy linguine served with mushrooms and short stalks of asparagus. S'more cake delights with a peanut butter and toasted marshmallow middle.

Awesome drinks; awesome food

by philipeats at Citysearch

Can't say enough good stuff about this spot. Great bar scene; comfortable lounge seating and great martini's. Don't stop at the bar, stay for dinner. The food is awesome and well priced. The outside seating is even comfortable. Oh, and don't pass up desserts which are also terrific and big enough to share.

  • Pros: Great food and bar, big portions, free parking

Great Time!!

by penelopeh at Citysearch

A couple of friends and I had martinis last week. One was called the Chicago River and was really unique! Cool martini atmosphere. We sat right in front of the kitchen for dinner. I had the pork tenderloin with polenta. Perfect. We all shared a Mac and Cheese. Service was pleasant and informative. It was a great place to spend a evening out of the cold!

  • Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Unique Martinis
