I have been to several Tapas restaurants before and found People Lounge was average. I did think that the goat cheese peppers were good but not great. I would much rather go somewhere like Iberico or Babareeba...more for your money and tastebuds. Wait staff was exceptional and very friendly. One of the food runners was a little surly but other than that, all staff was wonderful and accomodating.
Pros: Service
Cons: Food

We were seated right away regardless on how super pack this place was on a Saturday night. Great place to people watch and listen to a DJ spin their magic . They had a very good variety of Tapas to choose from . We began with the cheese plate and olives stuffed with garlic , very tasty . For dinner we had the shirt steak, chicken , mussels and scallop tapas . All the dishes were very flavorful and plenty for two people to share . For dessert we had the chocolate cake and the flan . The chocolate cake was a bit dry but the flan was Delicious. Through out the meal we tried a couple different specialty martinis they had to offer . Our favorite was the Peoples French Martini which has champagne in it . They also have white or red Sangria . Very refreshing . This is a great place for a fun date or a night out with friends .
Pros: food , people watching , DJ
Cons: can be very loud

Went to People on a weekend night with some friends. The place was packed so be sure to make reservations for weekends! The goat cheese stuffed red peppers are not on the menu but our server recommended them as a special. That was the best food I ever had in a Spanish tapas restaurant! The skirtsteak and spicy potatoes were delicious as well. One of my friends who is vegetarien was happy with the non meat choices also. DJs started spinning around 9:30 and the lights got dimmer. We moved to the bar and enjoyed a couple pitchers of sangria. Had a great time overall, will be back to try more dishes.
Pros: Great food, sangria and great bar scene
Cons: None

The food was presented well and was flavorful. Granted it is a tapas-style restaurant, but the portions were smallish by those standards. The atmosphere was relaxed. The service gets mixed reviews. For the most part, the servers were moderately attentive, but they did make a mistake and omit part of my order, however, the manager immediately apologized and comped our dessert. In addition a band was playing but at a high volume, the manager asked if it was too loud and accomidated our request to turn it down. Overall, I would return if the portions were better. Otherwise, its a nice place to check out.
Pros: Good Service
Cons: Small portions even by tapas standards

A few of my friends and I went there during a weekday after work and the overall experience was great. People got thumbs up from all of us. Chicken skewers and the white wine sangria were really good! It was just what we were looking for, the perfect blend of good food and good music on a weekday. Will go back again.
Pros: good food, good music, good service
Cons: If you are like me and don't like valet parking, parking may be tough as it is on a busy street

I've eaten at a lot of tapas restaurants in the city, and People is by far the best! The ambiance is great! Romantic on the inside, great for people watching at the outdoor tables. The Effes beer (Turkish) is amazing. Would definitely return!

Cool place dude. The food is excellent. The atmosphere even better. You think you are in Europe, instead of the boring boring Midwest. Gotta have more of these places. I wonder if they have franchises.

Everything about our night was great! We had a girls night out and I am not that crazy about tapas but it was the best tapas I have EVER had! Everything we tried was just amazing and the server was really nice and helpful in recommending dishes to try. The bread and queso dip was just amazing! I would go back in a heartbeat, no question. Good drink selection too and very reasonably priced.
Pros: Atomosphere, Food, Fun

The concept is great. The decor is simple, authentic and trendy. Good drink selection. The food we ordered was excellent, but overall there wasn't a large selection of tapas to choose from. Given how good the food was, I would have liked to see more choices.
Pros: location, drinks, concept
Cons: small food selection

excellent tapas, great service & a good beer selection, not to mention a few of chicago's top dj's spinning funk when we were there. we met the owner upon entering and spent several hours there, drinking a variety of beers & eating tapas...i've been to spain multiple times and the tapas at people lounge was definitely on par. no idea whatsoever how the last reviewer could have had such a different experience. only downside was the crowd (not many people there...i like it lively late at night) and they need to add some spanish beers. overall, i will be back, very soon.
Pros: food, service, music
Cons: no spanish beers, small crowd
