I find Source Healing to be the best Acupuncture I have received over the last 4 years of getting acupuncture. I love working with my acupuncturist Mary Sabo. Mary is always calm and takes the time to listen to my various issues. Some of my more chronic complaints are in now control and I am improving every day. I am also off a medication that I have relied on for 5 years and am in no need for any longer! Mary also specializes in Herbs and mixes me up a tailored mix of herbs for me when I go based on my symptoms that week. Source Healing is a very calm and relaxing place to heal and get back in balance. I am a huge fan and can not say enough!

Pros: relaxing atmosphere, quality service, highly trained practioners

Cons: none

Christie Jordan is a highly gifted healer of the first class, and with Source Healing she captains a tight ship beyond compare. She is by far the best acupuncturist I have ever come across, and I have done a bit of shopping about in the healing arts. Whether massage, energy work, chiropractic work, acupuncture or otherwise I recommend Source Healing above all other Chicago destinations. Forget your psychiatrist, Christie can guide one through any strains on mind, body, and spirit, and she has a sense of humor. A soft touch, and a good sense of humor can’t be beat. Well worth the expense. If you haven’t tried acupuncture, then go see Christie. If you have tried it and found it missing the mark, then go to Christie.

Pros: Source Healing is the best

Cons: It's not located in China - so you must pay in American dollars.

I began seeing Christie at Source Healing several years ago, after my physician recommended acupuncture to help treat my unexplained infertility. I, like many who have sought acupunctures as treatment, was a bit of a skeptic. It didn't take long, however, for Christie to win me over. I was, by all accounts, a tough case for Christie. By the time she began treating me, I was undergoing what would be my 4th unsuccessful IVF and beginning treatment out of state. I can honestly say, that if not for Chrisite, I would not be where I am today. There is not a doubt in my mind that she had everything to do with my eventual success (I now have 2 children)...but more than that, Christie became a friend to me. A therapist of sorts, with whom I looked forward to each of my weekly visits with. She guided me far beyond the treatment room, making recommendations of books for me to read, diet changes to consider, and new eyes with which to view my then situation. She taught me to start believing in myself...and, in the end, to heal from within. There isn't enough space for me to write all of the wonderful things I would like about Christie and her practice. Just take it from me...she is amazing!

I went to Christy Jordan 2 yrs ago to induce labor with my daughter. I was 1 week overdue and the Dr. wanted to induce with pitocin. Well, after seeing Christy, my water broke that night, and I had a happy healthy baby girl the next day without the hospital version of induction. This week I went to her because my 2nd child in utero was in a "breach" postion (not head down like she should be at 37 weeks). Christy used "moxibustion" to encourage the baby to get head down...and guess what? It worked! AND..my insurance covers 80% of the cost! How cool is that? I am a big fan of Christy and her staff. They fit me in to their schedule the day I called, and are a pleasure to be with. I think Acupuncture is just so powerful and energizing and becoming a reliable alternative to western medicine. My Dr. even recomended it!

Pros: Comfortable enviornment, effetive treatments

Cons: none

Christie Jordan rocks she has treated me for the last 2 years for chronic back pain and stress related to my job as a TV news video journalist. Christie is in tune with my pain and how to successfully treat it. If you are new to acupuncture don't be afraid of the needles (it is no big deal) I have referred my friends & family to Christie. She is by far the best & most caring practitioner I have encountered. The office environment is very relaxing and everyone on her staff is wonderful.

Pros: Location

I found Source Healing just by searching around online, and I'm so happy that I did. I have been seeing the acupuncturists there, including Christie Jordan and Mary Sabo, for more than a year now, and I could not be happier with the effect on my physical and mental balance. They both possess a fun, approachable demeanor while at the same time being extremely professional. They clearly have strong beliefs about Chinese medicine but are not dogmatic about it and are willing to work with you whatever your feelings are. They also do a good job working with whatever you might be doing with a traditional Western doc as well. In addition to the acupuncture itself, the herbal remedies and dietary recommendations can be amazingly effective. The space itself is very calming and soothing, and everyone who works there is super nice, making for a truly pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Pros: effective treatments, easygoing practitioners, beautiful space

Cons: parking

I was introduced to Source Healing when I saw Christie Jordon on a morning news program talking about Chinese treatments. She invited viewers to stop by Source Healing for a free consultation. As I had been suffering from terrible sinus and digestive issues, I figured it was worth an initial visit. OTC medicines and doctor presribed medicines were either leaving me light headed, sleepy, or having no effect. I was uncertain whether acupuncture would help me, but I was somewhat desperate and so I made the call. Christie referred me to Anah McMahon for treatment. My first visit with Anah involved more dialogue than I had ever had with any of my MD's. She did not just want to find out what was ailing me (sinus, digestion), but what could be possibly causing the issues I was having. The conversation delved into diet, work life, home life, physical issues. After the first accupuncture treatment, I walked home and felt as though I had just had the most relaxing massage in ages! I noticed that, the next morning, my sinus issues were greatly improved. I continued to see Anah for several more treatments, and noticed that my overall well-being was greatly improved: sinus issues and digestive issues dissappeared. While the two items that I went for treatment were "cured", I could not have anticipated the changes in my overall feeling of well being. During one of my treatments, my sinuses had so much pressure, I thought my head was going to explode. By the end of the treatment, all pain and pressure had been eliminated. This cemented my belief in the healing and curative powers of accupuncture. Anah's skill and wonderful manner were a winning combination for me. I have recommended her to several colleagues and friends - no better testament to the wonderful care received by her!

I started seeing Anah for acupuncture to treat my infertility issues. After over a year of trying to get pregnant, and seeing a fertility specialist for six months, I decided I needed something to help me relax and help me to feel more centered. From the moment you walk in, you are instantly relaxed. Anah was very attentive and supportive, taking down my long history and working with my individual needs everytime, like a headache, stress or just feeling blue. She also gave me breathing exercises to do at home and some herbs to help with some sleeping problems. Although I kept on with the fertility treatments and finally ended up with injectable hormones and IUI, I truly believe that Anah and the acupuncture was a big part in helping me to get pregnant, which I finally am! I would highly recommend Anah for anyone struggling with infertility. Suzanne

Eliminated back pain in just 1 visit ( doctors & physical therapists couldn't relieve the pain during 2 months of treatment). Now that I am pain free, I go just for fun. This is the place for the best acupuncture in Chicago and the world!

Pros: everything here is a pro

I was referred to Anah McMahon through an acupuncturist at Northwestern, for the purpose of trying to coax my breech baby to turn to the correct position for delivery so I could avoid a scheduled c-section. I am an MD myself and had never tried acupuncture, but was open to the idea of it since I had seen some compelling literature about it, and I figured it was much less invasive than my alternatives! My OB had mentioned acupuncture in passing, but noted that at my gestation, the chances of the baby turning were less than 30%. My experience at Source Healing with Anah was great, the environment is very relaxing and positive. Sure enough, after three days of treatment, the baby turned. I am absolutely thrilled and will consider returning to Anah for treatment of other issues in the future if they should arise! Highly recommended.
