Pass if you have a Big Party with Big Eaters.

We actually arrived early (7pm) for a huge dinner party of 30 and didn't leave until close to 11pm. The appetizers and entrees took way too long to arrive and there was nothing impressive about the entire meal. It's located on a quiet street and the atmosphere was terribly lacking. The waiter suggested that we do family style but people who did not like Chicken or Lamb were left starving. I think there are plenty of other places to eat than here.
best couscous in town.

I had dinner four times at tagine, the service was good and the food very tasty
not worth the trip

Since I usually check out all the new restaurants I had to check to this place as well. It was way far (took 20 min from downtown). I was excited about this place, after reading some good reviews. Hmmm... The place was way average or maybe below it. The food was okay but i'd had better. The mood? Not even close to the description I read. It need a makeover badly! and the waiter rushed us. Overall, i felt bad that I dragged my friends this far.
- Pros: inexpensive
- Cons: interior

I had a small birthday party for my girlfriend at Tagine last Friday and we were amazed with the quality of food and the service, we all had a very good time.
Great quality, ambience needs fine tuning

The quality of food was very good, I had one of the lamb tagines, and it was lovely. The ambience leaves a bit to be desired, with very large tables (no 2 tops for couples), so we found ourselves at a 4 top that was sufficiently large to seat 6. The window nook would be ideal, but again, too large for one couple. The service was poor, and although its a new restaurant, basic service should includes visiting the table more than twice. We waited for 15 minutes to get the bill settled. I would definitely go back for lunch.
Slow-cooked stews, hearty kebabs and flavorful vegetarian dishes shine at this Moroccan restaurant in Ravenswood.

The Scene
Minimalist yet comfortable, this Ravenswood storefront boasts few embellishments other than a lone windowside nook to the right of the entrance covered with jewel-toned pillows and deep fabrics embossed with gold leaf. A plush, ivory sherpa rug adorns a terra-cotta-colored wall to the left, while white linens blanket tables throughout the one-room space. Clubby Moroccan music is kept to bearable levels for the groups of neighborhood locals trickling in.
The Food
Moroccan chef Eddie Maettaoui celebrates his native cuisine with spicy tagines and simple vegetarian dishes. Pita bread accompanies traditional appetizers such as briwats--phyllo triangles stuffed with piping hot seafood, chicken or vegetables--and the Sahara vegetarian sampler, a trio of roasted eggplant, garlicky, lemony spinach and grilled bell peppers sauteed with garlic and herbs. Tagines brim with juicy, fall-off-the-bone lamb, meatballs or chicken thanks to clay pots that evenly distribute heat. Beef kebabs lock in marinated spices, but could be more tender.
