I went to Urban Spa Chic because of an incentive they had on Chicago Beauty for a $15.00 bikini wax when I scheduled a spa manicure & pedicure. The place was cool, low key and they have free parking. I have gone back twice now and had a positve experience both times. What I really liked was how they change their spa nail services with the seasons - chocolate covered strawberries for February and now a coconut lemongrass for spring. The waxing was quick and lasted a long time and for 15 bucks you can't go wrong.
Pros: free parking (no meters), open late during the week

I'm unhappy to say that I did NOT have a great experience here. The spa is a small space, without locker rooms. They did not provide robes or slippers before the massage service, and the massage itself was not what I was looking for. I specified that I liked more deep tissue and kneading, but they did mostly the swedish type of massage. also the other patrons in the waiting area were speaking kind of loudly and the staff did not tell them to keep their voices down - generally it did not have that soothing spa atmosphere when you walked in. I have to say that I would not return here. There are too many other nice spas in the area (like Kaya Day Spa) that really go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable experience.

Although a great friend of the "entourage", I rarely (think once a year...if that) treat myself to the mani-pedi (much to my feet's chagrin). LOVED this place - very casual and didn't look down upon my overdue pedicure. Clean, sassy and went above and beyond for our crowd. Cheers!

I don't really frequent the spa as I think I ought to, but I did enjoy my experience at Urban Spa Chic. I was one of the girls in "cgreenerac"s entourage that night of the shower. It was very mellow and relaxing and the owner and technicians that helped us out were so great. Melva (if I remember correctly!) gave me a great mini-manicure and she was very accomadating and easy to talk to. It was great fun and I recommend it to everyone I know living or going to Chicago!
Pros: Service, Ambience
Cons: One bathroom :-)

Urban Spa Chic is my FAVORITE place to go when I need to pamper myself and relax. I also go here for all my beauty needs. From my monthly facial and waxing to my spa manicure and spa pedicure, I can ALWAYS count on a relaxing experience. The evening hours work well with my busy schedule and I know I always count on the staff to soothe away all my worries! I love this spa and HIGHLY recommend it to the frequent city traveler or a city regular. You will NOT be disappointed!!!
