Excellent!

I am a new patient. i came with shorts and a tanktop so she could see my skin. i checked out okay. i think the visit was pretty lighthearted. i found them all to enjoy being there. I was told to buy a cream but i didn't purchase it because of cost. i've read the other reviews, just because it's prescribed that doesn't mean you have to get it. it wont get better however. to the comment below, remember she is the one who went to med school. NOT you. If she says it's okay, it probably is.

  • Pros: Efficent getting in and out
  • Cons: scheduling

Didn't get a thorough exam...

by duffymo at Citysearch

I've seen Dr. Shah twice, two years apart, for routine "mole screenings", because I have a family history of skin cancer and have had skin cancer myself (basal cell). On both visits, I felt Dr. Shah did a very cursory exam. After the first time this happened, I felt a little shell-shocked and decided that I'd be more forceful the next time. But I recently had the second exam, and was this time even more disappointed. For example, I was wearing jeans, and although she pulled up the bottom part of my jeans to examine my calves, she never saw the top of my legs! And what about the top of my head? Or my buttocks? When I go in for a comprehensive mole check, I expect all areas of my body to be examined, not just a few. All the while, she kept repeating that she "wasn't concerned at all". Well, it's not about HER being concerned! I'm the patient!

I won't be giving Dr. Shah another chance, I'm afraid. I've gotten the feeling she likes working a few hours a week and driving her little sports car...

  • Pros: Dr.'s personality seems sweet and helpful at first...
  • Cons: But then she becomes condescending.

I had a bad experience with this Dr Shah-Sheth. The Dr. would not listen to my thoughts and ideas as to what the problem may be, and even after stating that I had concerns about steriod based creams, prescribed one for me. Then has you purchase these really expensive creams at the counter that you can buy at Walgreens for half the cost. I do NOT recommend this office for anyone needing a dermatologist.

Terrible!!;(StayAway!

by LacduFlambeau at Citysearch

I agree with the previous negative comments and have had a similar experience. I would encourage people to look and ask their friends or family for someone other than Dr. Shah-Sheth to go to. My aunt even had a bad experience, felt like it was a waste of her time and money for what she was diagnosed and told to buy there. That's why I mention to ask around, we both got taken.

SHOW ME THE MONEY

by 63crystal at Citysearch

Dr. Shah-Sheth - SHOW ME THE MONEY. This is the only thing on her mind and her office staff. I have seen several dermatologists concerning a severe skin condition. Once I was referred to Mayo Clinic by Northwestern Memorial Hospital I had to gather 4 years of medical records and biopsies. I was really pleased to see my other dermatologists finding out about my problem had no problem sending me all my records ASAP, to my surprise at no charge, but Dr. Shah-Sheth referred me to the fine print on her office policies that there is a outrageous amount of money required to receive any medical records or biopsies( this fee starts at $50.00) and could go higher based on the number of pages. Maybe Dr. Shah-Sheth should read the Hippa Privacy, which states there is a charge but a reasonable charge that starts at pennies per page which is considered reasonable charges. Once again, I would not reccommend Dr. Shah-Sheth, all she is out for is money. Shame on you, SHOW ME THE MONEY.

  • Pros: NONE
  • Cons: Will take your money

Friendly and professional

by KSkinner at Citysearch

Dr. Shah-Seth has a wonderful bedside manner, so to speak with children and adults. Both my teen and myself have had dermatology issues. Skin cancer has occurred on both sides of our family. Dr. Shah-Seth is thorough in her explanations presenting options for procedures and has a manner that is professional and approachable. She is the reason we switched from a different dermatologist.

  • Pros: Dr. Shah-Seth
  • Cons: Limited Hours

Awful!

by ldas4kids at Citysearch

I saw Dr. Shah-Sheth for my son who has moderate acne problem. The Dr. looked at his face briefly and explained a regimen and then proceeded to check off on a list the items she wanted him to use, never letting me know that these were her products that needed to be purchased at the conclusion of the visit. Total bill: $30 insurance co-pay and over $200 for the products!!!! If the products were helpful I wouldn't have minded so much, but they made my son's face worse. More follow up visits were required with more prescriptions needed. I called the office and explained the situation. Her staff is rude and unhelpful. Beware!!.
