I've passed this salon many times when I go to visit my sister - who lives just around the corner. It's always looked very colorful and trendy. I LOVE THA T THEY CARRY BUMBLE AND BUMBLE - I'm addicted! I've gone in before to buy products whatnot (because they can be difficult to find) and they've always been so nice. Really outstanding customer service. I usually go to A&S and decided to try something different. I went last week and was very pleased. I gave my hair people some ideas, but really let them fly withit. I went to erin for color and david for a cut and LOVE IT! I would recommend the place to those that need something different than the usual. Great vibe.

Pros: LOVE BUMBLE AND BUMBLE PRODUCTS!! OBSESSED WITH SURF SPRAY!

Cons: wished they carried the B&b other line, treatment products

wasn't too girly. wasn't too stuffy. wasn't too formal. quality without the pretense. more than a barbershop and less attitude than most northshore places i've tried. really enjoyed my experience.

Pros: really liked the shampoo time

Red 7 is a relaxing place to be while Kate (who colors my hair) and Matt (who cuts and styles it) add to the charm with their great personalities. I am glad I found it.

I knew Kate is a great colorist, but Wow! My experience at Red 7 was fantastic. I was greeted with a wonderful smile. The salon was very clean and had a professional atmosphere. The taste in art work was exquisite. As a salon owner I appreciate the little details and time spent in decorating the salon. Kate's work is amazing. I have had so many problems finding a colorist that I absolutely love but I finally found her. KATE ROCKS!!!!

The salon is lovely and the staff that work there are very sweet and very nice but the main reason why I go there is for Kate. She is the only person I would ever trust with my hair color. I have done just about every color under the sun and no matter how wild and wacky or toned-down and subdued I want my hair, Kate always has the best suggestions and works with me to find the best direction. My hair color always comes out looking amazing, so multi-dimensional and full of tone and depth. People are always complementing me on the color and I owe it all to you Kate, cheers to you!

Yes indeed, Ivy is the master of the "perfect shade of blonde". I am so so SO very picky about my exact shade of blonde, and everytime i go, ivy gets it perfectly! It's like she's reading my mind when I walk in the door. Laura does my haircuts, and she also nails it perfectly everytime! I have never been so impressed by two styilists in my life! And besides my two girls, everybody else that works there is so sweet and nice! They give the salon such a comforting vibe. I am 100% satisfied each and every single time I go here. I will never go anywhere else, this place is the best in the city, if not the world!

I have been to practically every posh over-priced hair salon in the city, and R7 is far superior! Matt has been my stylist for over 9 months and has done an amazing job. The staff is super friendly and helpful, not uppity like some places I’ve been. The prices are significantly lower than other comparable salons.

After 4 years of searching for a good salon, I have found one!!!! Matt gave me the best haircut I have ever had in my life!!!!! Not only did he show me how to blowdry my bangs at home so that they look as great as when he does them, but my haircut still looks great 4 months later! I can't believe it still looks this amazing. Matt only charges $55 but his haircuts are better than ones I've paid $85 for. If I move, I'm going to have to fly back just to have him cut my hair.

Pros: Great stylists, excellent service, amazing value

I've been a client of R7 for awhile, in fact just wrote review for Chicago locatino finally the other day because I love that there still is a copmany like that around. My sister who lives in Deerfield HATES coming downtown, so I made her appt in Evanston. I finally convinced her to stop going to Mario Tricocci. She called me about 5 times during her appt since she was so incredibly nervous. I was a bit annoyed that they would let her call me so many times during her haircut. My sister is extremely suburban and her look is very suburban. I was, to be honest, a bit concerned how they would coax her out of it. I met her for dinner last night and was shocked. She looks awesome and feels so hip. She demanded that I not only call R7 and leave a msg on their voicemail at 11 last night, but write in here as well to thank them. So, thanks R7 for making my big sis look great. Next time, take her phone away!

In my humble opinion, a hair place is like all others. However, that all changed when my girlfriend and i checked out red 7. I was so impressed with all of the attentiveness. They are sooooooo oin top of it, not in a pestering way, but in an impressive customer service way. Loved the tunes plyaing and really liked the vibe of the place and the people. I'm the newest recruit. According to my highly educated girlfriend who has been going to the salon inthe city forever, this evanston place measures up. Next time I'm going to make it a date night afterwards. Bummed theydont have pedicures - love to get my feet rubbed.
