The most professional and creative wedding planners in Chicago

I really owe so much to all of the wonderfully warm, caring and professional ladies at Big City Bride. Becoming a client of theirs was the best decision I made, next to my husband!

The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. At my first meeting with Darcy when I let her know that we were on a tight budget, wanted to get married on New Year's Eve, and wanted something a little less traditional, she was nothing but excited and supportive. Darcy was so incredible, she took care of EVERYTHING for us and made some really great suggestions that really added to the uniqueness we were hoping for. I looked forward to every meeting I had, not only because of my excitement about the event in general, but I really appreciated all the time I spent with Darcy and everyone at BCB. I felt I could rely on them with this day that was so important to me, and just enjoyed their company! They are all such a delight! Such warm, intelligent and caring women. I really felt lucky to have them involved...

As for the big day.... I didn't think about ANYTHING except for how happy I was to be marrying the love of my life! If there were any glitches... I knew nothing about them! The night was seamless, Darcy made sure everything perfect! It honestly felt like I had another Maid of Honor! Really, enough can't be said for these ladies and Big City!

Our wedding sanity savior! BCB is incredible!

We cannot rave enough about Susan and the BCB team!!!

We interviewed MANY wedding planners before we met Susan (and Chrissy and Darcy) but within moments of our initial meeting, we were convinced of their incredible ability, creativity and passion!

Susan was warm, understanding, precise, passionate, extraordinarily creative, innovative, and extremely detail-oriented. Most importantly, she LISTENED. We knew we wanted a somewhat non-traditional wedding, and Susan heard our needs and wants, made suggestions, and ultimately created the perfect day! She gave honest feedback and helped us navigate the process with ease and grace, always steering us in the right direction. We could not have asked for more!

Throughout our 9 months of working with her, Susan continued to far exceed our expectations in EVERY way. She not only exemplified the qualities listed above, but she was present and available whenever we needed her, despite the fact that she has at least one event nearly every weekend. We cannot remember any time that it took more than 24 hours for BCB to return an email or phone call.

Susan and her team work together in perfect harmony. In fact, even though Susan took a brief vacation during the time we were planning our wedding, our questions and concerns were immediately taken care of by Chrissy. The fact that we could have nearly instant access to people who knew every detail of our wedding plans could not have been more comforting.

Many of my friends have planned weddings recently and have been overwhelmed by the stress of it all. I had no such experience and I cannot express enough gratitude to BCB for their ability to relieve all of my stress; that is, I knew because they were on top of it, I didn't have to worry about it.

Our special day was absolutely perfect and we know that was in large part thanks to BCB!

the worst service imaginable!!

just like the previous review, we were met by darcy at big city bride. at first we were very impressed and excited. we were ready to have them plan our wedding. we had our meeting and upon leaving we were told we would receive an e mail w/ our quote the next day. guess what? we NEVER heard from them again. i e mailed the owner susan several days later and i was told she was on vacation and that darcy had fallen ill suddenly. susan said to be patient and darcy would get back to me asap. well, its been a month. no word from darcy or susan. even after we sent a couple more e mails. their web site boasts that they can plan a wedding on any bugdet. i believe that the reason we were snubbed by big city is because we told them our budget was quite modest. well too bad for them because our budget has increased by tens of thousands of dollars since then. maybe if they weren't so unprofessional and rude we would be spending it w/ them. i do not recommend big city and especially do not recommend darcy. be careful if she is your planner. she may suddenly fall ill.

They Rock!

My husband and I were overwhelmed with the planning process when we got engaged, so we decided to meet with a wedding planner. Big City Bride was the first one that I called, as they came highly recommended from a good friend of mine that had used them. We went and met in their Lincoln Park studio, which was really cute, and it really put me in the planning spirit. They helped with details that I would have never thought of if I was planning on my own. We were always given creative ideas and suggestions, but the decisions were always left up to my husband, and me, which was nice. We always looked forward to our meetings with them, because they were productive and really, really fun. I don't know what I would have done without them!!!! I was so nervous and it was nice to have them their taking care of all of the details. I had a gorgeous wedding day and have them to thank. We were so lucky to find them.

Very Helpful,Creative and Great Service

Both my wife and I work full-time and have only lived in Chicago a few years. We knew we wanted to have a summer downtown Chicago wedding, but we didn't know exactly how we should start planning. Since we are both busy we thought it might be worth checking out wedding planners. I browsed a wedding planning magazine and called a few of them. A couple of them never called me back and another one didn't sound very professional. However, Susan with Big City Brides very much impressed me. When my wife and I met with Big City Brides, it was obvious that they lived and breathed weddings and could be very helpful with our wedding.

Susan showed us apx 10 places for us to consider, incredible photographers, caterers, florists, DJs, Bands, videographers, etc) Everyone she introduced us to, she had worked with in the past. (Actually, our only vendor that let us down was a videographer that we chose on our own -- I wish we would have used one of the ones she introduced to us) We both really wanted a band but to budgetary reasons we decided to pick a DJ. (Susan introduced us to Spinnin Discs and they were fantastic) Bottom line: the money we spent with Big City Brides was worth every penny --- plus she saved us money because of her connections. Big City Brides take their work very seriously -- they really went above and beyond. I was most impressed with their experience and creativity. Big City Brides helped us think of things we would have never thought of and helped make our wedding what we hoped it would be. I strongly recommed Big City Brides.

Best Chicago wedding planner

When my husband proposed I was thrilled! I couldn't wait to start the wedding planning... but the wedding planning was very stressful off the bat! Especially being new to Chicago. Susan Cordogan of Big City Brides/Big City Events took away all the stress of planning our wedding! In fact, she made the wedding planning process so much fun!!! She was really creative and helped us have our dream wedding! She found us the perfect location and the perfect vendors! No finishing touch was left undone! I was a guest at my own wedding... when anyone asked me anything I simply said, "Ask Susan!" I recommend her and her staff very highly!
