Please be cautious when deciding which developer to buy from and do not choose JML. Everything in the previous reviews mirrors my personal experience with them. People associated with JML are: Maria Whipple (Yola Whipple) Karen Biazar George Kovacs Greg Braun Please be careful when working with any of these people

I could repeat what has been posted here previously but it would be the same story. They sell half finished units and never finish them AS CONTRACTED. Do not think that a contract means they will do their job. It really doesn't without an expensive trip to court and that is not even a sure thing. Save yourself a lot of time and money and tell everyone you know never to consider doing business with them.

Be warned. These people are con artists. My brother in law bought a JML place. He did it because he is Polish and trusted them. They took every short cut known to man. Additionally, they did less than ten percent of the promised punch-list items. After a year, he gave up. He probably spent ten grand doing repairs on his "New Construction" unit and correcting their mistakes. JML promised and promised that they'd take care of everything and did nothing but cash the check.
Pros: Good marketing and able sellers
Cons: Dishonest and short on skill and effort in finishing touches

If you're considering moving into Wicker Park in any building managed by JML Development or Winchester Properties, avoid them at all costs! It's a nice building that unfortunately is run by slumlords. Dozens of maintenance requests (some violating city code) have been largely ignored and numerous phone conversations and excuses have led us to the conclusion that these people don't want to create a living situation for someone, they just want your money. Do not move in with them no matter what they tell you!
Pros: There are no pro's
Cons: Everything and anything. This is the worst apartment situation we've ever been in

This is one of my first time leaving a review...My current situation has gotten me so fed up with this company, I feel the entire Chicago area needs to know. This company has a bad maintenance team. Even small repairs are a pain to have them fix. My wife has to often come in after and fix what they didn't! Secondly, we've had leaks and cracks in the walls and ceilings. With all the rain and snow, the situation has gotten dramatically worse. Nothing has been done yet, since August! I've sent many emails and talked to the company many times and they always have some kind of excuse as to why it hasn't been fixed. The company never updates me on progress of repairs, I always have to call them on it. JML Development/ Winchester properties is an unorganized mess! Do yourself a favor and avoid them!!
Pros: Seem nice at first
Cons: Very slow at handling maintenance, very cheap
