These waffles are one of the greatest treats ever! They are dessert waffles from heaven! They are a bit expensive because everything is imported but it's worth every penny. Lately they have monthly specials which have been fabulous deals. We get the gelato on top for an extra $1. We tried the fruit-filled waffles they were good but not amazing like the zuchers. We have been there 3 times and I'm going on Saturday. Always great!

Baladoche is one of the cutest places in Rogers park! It's dessert only, which slightly confused me because they were sampling waffles, but let me tell you, I'd be 5,000 lbs if I kept going back! The staff is energetic, nice, and really knows their stuff! Their waffles are a little pricey (like $4 a waffle, and about $6 for the packs of really thin waffles-which are great breakfast foods when you're running late) but it's fine and unique European dessert. As a bonus, the coffee is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the free Wifi and the decorations. I'd highly recommend Baladoche to anyone!

Baladoche is a really nice retreat from the general Roger's Park area business. They opened in summer of 2008, and the owner is clearly a very passionate man who really knows his gelatto! The service was very friendly and very generous about samples, as well as knowledgeable about their product. I would definitely recommend this authentic taste of European sweets! They are affordable, clean, and the cafe has a great vibe with couches and Internet access available. My experience there was great, and I would definitely go back!

I was looking forward to good Belgian waffles. What I got was poor service, an unclean place, and a old waffle that was very expensive. Slackers behind counter prefer to talk on cell phone rather than wait on customers. Prices are outrageous (even for European ingredients). Music is too loud, tables were not bussed. Not a pleasant experience.

  • Pros: Waffles are pretty good
  • Cons: Not good enough for bad service

Like nothing you have ever tasted, these zucker waffles are sugary, sweet, and intense!!!.. no need for toppings and you can walk with them in your hand! The take out window is genius.. you can smell them for blocks.

You can eat them anytime you are in the mood for dessert. Also, try melting their authentic italian gelatos ( best I have had in the city) on top .. a la mode. Now they just added fruit filled waffles.. stuffed to the gills with fruit..

$1.84 cappucinos and lattes from illy during the weekdays are available ALL DAY here.. no better deal in town...make that the country... and they handcraft them with imported italian milk (they say they use Belgian water in the zucker waffles too.. I believe it since they are so good) .. if you ask they will let you know the extraction time on your espresso so you can get it perfect every time. They hand out samples all day long of nearly everything in the store if you pass by. I am impressed! Owner says even the powdered sugar, egg, and cinnamon come from Europe.

  • Pros: Best waffle you will ever taste and beats the hell out of a doughnut or cinnabon because you can drive with these in your hand
  • Cons: NONE

I was dissapointed with Baladoche, I was really looking forward to it, but the selection was horrible. The choices were limited, and I was looking for breakfast, not dessert. It would be a good dessert, but a mighty expensive one. The waffle was just ok, but the coffee horrible. I would reccoment spending 1.00$ on a waffle style cookie and skipping this place alltogether.

  • Pros: Sweet
  • Cons: not practical for any meal, too expensive for dessert

Baladoche saved my morning recently and made my day after a bad breakfast experience at a nearby La Creperie. Waffles were so yummy! I will go there again, again, and again!

  • Pros: Waffles with sugar!
  • Cons: None
