Yeah.. i was walking to the bathroom and some random guy came up to me and licked my face the whole side of my cheek. Before I could even knock him or scream or even have any kind of reaction to it, the bouncer saw the whole thing happened. I thought ok awesome this guy will take care of it. NO he came up to me and took my drink away and told me to calm down and stop freaking out before I could even freak out which made me even more upset. I tried to talk to the manager but he wouldn't even let me explain the situation at all, not even get a word in. he was speaking a mile a minute so I yelled at him and got thrown out. yeah. that really happened.

Pros: People think they are really cool when they are there

Cons: A random guy may lick your face

My girl and i went down to celebrate with some friends who were holding a launch party. I wish we had read these reviews before we left because the negative ones pretty much summed up the experience we had at the door. Got there at about midnight, noticed the line outside but figured it didn't matter since we were on "the list." The doormen informed us that they were at capacity and we had to wait list or not. Okay, no problem with being safe, except immediately after, the doorman let in a group of girls. We left and went to O'Calahan's up the street instead and enjoyed great service along with an apparent huge savings over the Underground.

Pros: Proximity to other bars

Cons: Misogynistic doormen

Every positive review on this site was obviously written by a staff member. This place is a joke. If I want to spend a grand in one night to have a miserable time I would rather do it at a place with, I don't know, AIR CONDITIONING? The staff was nice to me but incredibly rude to my friends (they were also ridiculously negligent) and the place is so overcrowded you can't enjoy anything that's going on. It's way overpriced for how crappy it is. Don't waste your money, everything about that place is a ripoff

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Service, Atmosphere, Crowd, Prices

This place is SMALL, OVERPRICED, NO DANCE FLOOR. If you dont spend $600 on a small wooden box (because they dont even have TABLES)!!!! DONT even bother going because you will only stand in the corner being pushed and shoved by everyone trying to get to the 1 and only small bar they have. We went to celebrate my sisters 21st B-Day and reserved a $600 dollar crappy wooden box on the floor, she reserved it for 10 people which they never let any of her guests in because the bouncers are idiots and over packed the place with people who dont reserve ahead of time. The staff also pulled my sister into the alley to give her a sobriety test expecting her to be sober on her 21st B-Day. STAFF IS INCREDIBLY MEAN AND RUDE!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GIVE THEM OUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I don't get what the hype is about. You walk into the bar directly into the "dance" floor so if you want to dance you have to continually deal with incoming traffic. The bar is way in the corner so you have to navigate past the dancers and general standing patrons to a little nook that is crowded because there's just no good way to get out of anyone's way. The seating seems to be set up to watch people dance/enter - like there should have been a red carpet and papparazzi. Stayed only a short time - all of it disappointing.

Pros: None

Cons: Awkward space

Okay, I may be a little angry but this experience was incredible (not in a good way). Some of what follows has been stated on another site but the experience was such that it merits a repeat. I work in the industry as both a DJ and security and decided to check out the club, especially since one of my good friends was DJing for the night. I approached the door, informed them that I was on the DJ list. After a few times of scanning me/looking me up and down (although I was dressed very appropriately), they responded with not knowing who the DJ was (although he has DJed there since it was taken over by the former owner of Le Passage). Then I informed them and showed them my card from the club I work at (FBL), they ignored that and told me that it was a private party (although seven guys that were poorly dressed walked in without so much a glance at a list). I forgot mention previously that another individual who may have been a manager also did the scan "thing" and acted as if he did not know who the DJ was (who was on my cell phone with exact same music that was playing in the club). Then I decided to inform them that I would buy a bottle (just to see what their response would be). They repeated the scanning of me and the private party "line." I guess they passed their "darkness" quota for the evening. This is unfortunate because the owner is well respected and treats all that has come into his establishments pretty decently (from previous experience). If they will treat people who work in the industry in this way, that was a guest of the DJ, arrived prior 10:45pm, and was willing to purchase outrageously priced liquor (I don't drink by the way) then you may not stand a chance. This has made me want re-examine my own behavior securing clubs to make sure that I will never be this way. Thus the reason why I am on here putting them on blast!! (for a second time)

Pros: Great location and respectable ownership

Cons: Poor staff with a possible hint of discrimination

pretty sure the good reviews for this site have been written by the staff. This plaec isn't horrible or anything. Just WATCH OUT> Carry cash. Pay attention to prices. Lots of un-needed greed. Lots of wanna be, star screwers.... which isn't always a bad thing :P

Cons: Service

Great place, lots of women, guys bring your girls and bring your money! I dont know if this was a normal thing but it was so hot! Come on Dec turn on the A/C! It was hotter than 400 hells! I had a table with 2 bottles and 4 people drinking on it.... I think I was able to drink so much because I was sweating out as I drank! Other than that great music, good atmosphere!

Pros: Lots of Women!

Cons: Sweat Box!

This military-chic lounge from Rockit Ranch (Le Passage, Rockit) lives up to its hush-hush name--literally and figuratively.  See the full editorial review.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Don't expect any signage; Underground thrives on its own "insider" appeal. Here's a hint: It's in the alley behind Ben Pao where all the commotion is. In other words--it's the old Harry's Velvet Lounge.
