I am so greatful to have found Dr. Paguio and his staff. I would highly recommend The Art of Dental Care to anyone and have to many of my friends already. The Art of Dental Care has a beautiful office and the staff is extremely personable and genuine. They pair comfort ability with professionalism well. Dr. Paguio is a very compassionate dentist and really takes all the time needed to explain his procedures as well as let you ask questions and voice any concerns. Dr. Paguio hygenitist are all helpful, friendly, and easy to talk to.I look forward to seeing them every time! I am very happy with the care that has been provided for me at The Art of Dental Care, and I am always impressed with the care I receive every time I walk in.
Pros: The friendly hellos makes me actually want to be at the dentist

Dr. Paguio at Art of Dental Care is the best dentist I have found since my lifelong dentist retired a few years ago. I am as comfortable with him and his hygienists as I was with my original dentist of 28 years. His hygienist is very thorough, gentle and professional. He is a great dentist. After a cavity or a little repair work I have felt fine, ie.. the filling is not sensitive etc.. He is very professional but will not put you through procedures just to make a buck. If he suggests you fix something it is because it really needs to be fixed. I would not consider seeing any other dentist in the city and I recommend him to my family and friends. I dont know how he is with children because I dont have any, but I act like a little kid in the dentist's chair and he and his assistants are great with me.
Pros: Flexibility with appts, professional, GENTLE, THOROUGH, polite, ...cute assistants
Cons: assistants are all dating someone

Great service and an extremely friendly staff. Went in as a new patient for my first visit and felt as if I'd been going there for years. Would definitely recommend them if you're in the market for a dentist in the city.
Pros: Friendly staff, top of the line equipment, comfortable ambience
Cons: Would have liked a more thorough explanation of insurance and billing

Like most, I never really took care of my teeth growing up. Yeah I brushed, and I flossed once in awhile, but never really invested into fixing my teeth when they needed fixing – thus my cavities and messed up smile. My experience with the Art of Dental Care has been pleasant throughout. I never have to wait long to be seen by Dr. Paguio or otherwise, which is pretty important to me to not have to spend a whole day at the dentist. What I especially appreciate, are the explanations regarding my teeth’s current situation, what I’ve been doing wrong (or not at all, ie. flossing, cleanings, changing out my toothbrush sooner…), what work needs to be done soon, and what needs to be done over the long haul. I feel like most other dentists I’ve had just did stuff, but never really emphasized ALL that needed to be done. This office helped me achieve a game plan for healthier teeth, which is great since I was getting sick of having to chew on one side. I totally recommend Dr. Paguio, he talks to you, he asks if you ok in the chair while he’s working, and he really invests the time with you as a patient. Office staff is pleasant; Leah especially is great about helping me schedule my next visit and with rescheduling a visit. I’ve had several work done here, from cleanings, fillings, a cap, teeth whitening (definitely recommend) and Invisalgn. I definitely have found a place that I’ll be sticking with!
Pros: Cool looking practice, great service.

Three words come to mind when I think of my experience; trustworthy, pain free, & eco-friendly. At the Art of Dental Care they quickly earned my trust with pain free procedures. I also discovered that their state of the art dental imaging minimizes my exposure to radiation & eliminates any need for disposable products. Further, I observed that they utilize computer charting which reduces any paper waste. The office is contemporary, clean, & inviting. Their respect for the patient is evident in how they care for them. My experience was a unique one. It started with a toothache, so I contacted Dr. Paguio and he was able to accommodate me on my preferred date. He also didn’t mind if I brought my baby with me, as I didn’t have anyone to watch him during my appt. time. When I arrived, Leah offered to watch my 6 month old baby during my dental visit. As a new mother, I felt comfortable with this especially since he was within my eye sight. I was seen immediately and to my surprise, Jennifer, the dental hygienist, was great and didn’t touch any of my sensitive areas during my dental cleaning. I could feel my body start to relax. Dr. Paguio then examined my teeth and discovered that I needed a new filling. Before they started, they could probably sense that I was nervous and tense, and Kristin, the clinical coordinator, asked me if I would like to listen to an IPod. Wow! I thought, I’ve NEVER had this kind of offer before. It was great to have the IPod to distract me from all the drilling and buzzing. I felt my body relax as I realized I wasn’t having any pain or discomfort. Before I knew it, they were done. How fantastic to have such a great experience! I never knew such a dental experience could exist! To top it all off, Leah managed to get my baby to take his nap! I recommend checking them out! It's a unique dental experience and one you won't get anywhere else!
Pros: Professional, Clean, State of the Art Equipment, Eco-friendly Practice

Do not let the asthetics of the dental office fool you. I went to the dental office and met the staff thinking, "this would be a great experience." I do not have good teeth and did not expect to ever have teeth like Dr. Paguio or any of his staff. I do, however, have a crocked tooth and inquired about Invisalign. I had several consultations and truly trusted Dr. Paguio when he assured me, in fact, promised me, that Invisalign would correct my issue. He told me in no uncertain terms that I was the perfect candidate for Invisalign. It cost me about $6,000 and it was just short of all of the money I had saved up. I did not do the braces because I trusted him and his judgement. As the process went on, and as my visits to him increased, I couldn't help but notice that my tooth wasn't moving as I wished and as he promised. In fact, he even had to extend the time frame for the Invisalign. I know a dentist can not guaranty things, but he promised me that I was a perfect candidate for Invisalign. I could have spent the money on vaneers or braces but I trusted him because he promised me that it would fix my issue. As we went through the process, Dr. Paguio actually seemed to be less interested in me and in the outcome. These were my teeth and he promised me a result. As things progressed, it seemed like he gave up on me and simply said "they're not moving the way we had hoped." He made me feel stupid for questioning the position of my teeth and blamed my gums as the reason for the lack of anticipated result. I felt embarrassed for asking questions even though I knew he knew I wasn't happy with the result. He took xrays before we started the process and is the doctor, the professional, he should have known that and been more honest with me at the start. I never would have done this and don't recommend it to anyone. I am writing this not out of anger but as a warning. Please do not take the asthetics of the office as evidence of perfection.

Truth be told I hadn't been to the dentist in over 3 years and was a bit nervous to go. However, Dr. Paguio and his wonderful staff made the experience a true pleasure (normally not the case at a dentist). Everthing is state-of-the-art and what is great was the ability to review my xrays with the Dr. in a matter of seconds on a flat panel LCD screen right in front of me! Jenny was great in doing my routine cleaning, I will say my teeth have never looked so good! I have already begun to recommend Art of Dental Care to my friends. If you need to get to a dentist you truly should look no further.
Pros: Staff, Service, Parking
Cons: Hours of Operation

It might seem a bit odd to begin a review with a comment on parking availability, but I think it’s relevant; my awesome experience with the Art of Dental Care began with a smooth drive over. I’ve been accustomed to the quintessential Chicago hellacious-bus-trips or outrageous downtown parking prices but found the commute to my first appointment at this new office to be swift and headache free. The building itself is on the corner of Dickens and Damen. This easy to find, sharp looking store-front caught my eye from the curb. I arrived right on time (for once in my life), was greeted by the super friendly, smiley, mega-intelligent staff and taken right back to the chair. What can I say? This place felt more like a spa than a dental office. Tons of paintings, plasmas, fresh air and…space…SPACE! When was the last time you were at a doctors’ office that had beautiful windows and open space? Despite the dynamic setting, however, The Art of Dental Care has the best staff a patient could hope to find. This place is like the Holy Grail of dental offices. I should know; I’ve spent a fafillion hours in the chair and the few that I’ve spent with the staff have been as pleasurable as one could hope for. If you care about your smile, take your mouth to these people…they’ll make your “worst case scenario” into a work of art.
Pros: read my review!!
Cons: none

I work for Dr Paguio. I am his hygienist, Jennifer. Now, this may seem strange or unfair for me to post a review, but let me explain. You see, Dr Paguio is also my dentist. I have been a hygienist for nine years, and in those years I have worked with many different dentists in the Chicago area. Contrary to popular belief, my teeth are not perfect and I do have some fillings which desperately needed to be replaced. The problem was that I did not trust anyone to do the work. I am a perfectionist by nature, and I needed to be sure that my dental work would be done right. After working with Dr Paguio for a short time, I felt confident that I could trust him. He has begun the process of replacing my fillings, and they look beautiful. They feel great, and of course there was no pain. An added bonus, the office is just beautiful… when I first walked in for my interview I knew instantly that this is where I wanted to work—I even gave notice at my previous office before Dr. Paguio even offered me the job! And he really put me through the ringer with so many interviews that I lost count! I didn’t mind though, because I knew that this meant he really cared about who took care of his patients. So there you have it… Dr Paguio is the kind of dentist that even a perfectionist dental hygienist like me can be happy with both as an employee and as a patient!

I have followed Dr. Paguio through all 3 practices in and around Chicago because he is the best dentist, period. He and his staff - Leah, Kristin, and Jenny - are super-gentle, ultra-friendly, and do incredibly great work. Oh, and did I mention how funny they all are? I had a root canal and Dr. Paguio and I were laughing so hard that people were stopping in to see if I was really getting the procedure done. Who knew you could have fun at the dentist? Also, unlike every other dentist I've been to, he knows how to run his office. It is clean, modern, comfortable, and contains the best equipment. He has that neat computer camera that can show you what's really going on in your mouth. He showed me the cavities I had developed that my prior dentist never mentioned, and I had been going to that office every 6 months religiously for my cleanings. He put in new fillings for those new cavities (painless) and had to re-do an old amalgam one (also painless). I trust Dr. Paguio and the staff with my teeth, and I will never go to anyone else. I have recommended him to my friends and they are all thrilled with his service. Go to him, you'll be glad you did.
Pros: They're gentle, the equipment, the decor,
Cons: none
