I felt compelled to give Sir Spa a 5 star rating as my boyfriend and I recently went there last weekend for their "date night" package. After our great, relaxing massages we were escorted back together to join up for a glass of wine alone, and then afterward we headed across the street to a great Italian restaurant for a romantic dinner. Forget dinner and a movie - dinner and a massage was great! The spa is huge, and very nice. Although it's created for men, I felt great in my own treatment room with its own shower. Loved the decor and incredible rain drenching showers. The staff was so helpful and nice, setting up our dinner reservations and all for that evening. We will definitely be back together and now I know what to get my guy friends for birthday gifts coming up - men really dig this spa and I can see why. Highly recommend!

  • Pros: Amazing space and attentive stafff
  • Cons: Absolutely none

I have been getting pedicures for several years now at a fantastic salon on Lincoln avenue in Ravenswood with welcoming friendly cheerful faces who cared about your visit. The person that did my pedicures moved on and I decided to try Sir Spa booking a pedicure and manicure. What a mistake! Entering the salon I was impressed and felt reassured by the decor. Well that did not last. Reception was cold and icy. No smiles and no cheerful faces. And the pedicurist was not very friendly nor really interested in her job or customer. Was I at the DMV? The web site claims 45 minutes pedicure and 30 minutes manicure each. I was finished in about an hour. My fingers looked OK but at $25 dollars way overpriced. Save your cash do them yourself. My wife pays $21 at this other salon and she gets polish! Men's manicures should be about $10 certainly no more than $15. And remember this is not the Gold Coast. The pedicure was better at $45 but the day following I noticed two small cuts on my toes. That has never happened. I had also taken an introductory coupon from their website which I presented when paying. They pointed out that it was only good for Sunday-Friday. I missed that print. But they with their unhappy unsmiling faces did not say "Sorry, sir" or bothered to make an exception for a first time customer so I payed the full price of $70. Unless their massages are magical I won't return nor would recommended.

  • Pros: Great modern minimalist decor.
  • Cons: Service non existent. No connection to the customer. Smile people!!!

Screwed over by American Airlines, I arrived in Chicago for my week-end of debauchery with old pals at 7:40 am rather than the 7:00 pm arrival that I paid for (that's another story though) - I had a whole day to myself, the weather was marginal at best... "ah", I thought, "perfect day to detox before the week-end of retox." My Chicago friend told me to call Sir Spa - I called and made a reservation for the Soveirgn Package.

So, here's how I break it down - great facial - a true facial designed for the needs of men, rather than a woman's facial cleverly called 'THE GENTLEMAN'S FACIAL" - hot towels to sooth the stress of razor burn, masculine scented products... it's all good, it's all perfect.

90 minute massage - fantastic massage - had David I believe. Totally relaxing.

The hand/foot detail - I walked into the cool room upstairs where they do nail services for guys. The woman did a great job and I would definitely go back.

The locker room amenities were very nice, steam, waterfall shower... all of the wonderful MEN'S (not women's that man can use) products available for trial... great selction - class act!

Recommending to all of my friends in Chicago that haven't been yet, as well as my friends that travel to the city on business. The front desk staff takes care of you and I haven't seen another place like this ever before. Highly recommend!

  • Pros: Staff, atmosphere, amenities, treatments
  • Cons: Was hard to get in last minute for an appointment - call and book ahead

I first went about a year ago and and been back every month to relax and de-stress. The staff are very friendly and professional. The spa itself is top notch with excecutive faciliates -- wood lockers, steam room and amazing showers.

I have tried many different massages therapists over the time I have been going. The massages have ranged from fantastic to mind-blowing. I highly recommend Piotor or Lucas for deep tissue massage.

All in all, this place is excellent and I always look forward to going back and have recommneded to several friends who have also had great experiences.

  • Pros: Easy parking

I ave tried this place a few times...I really wanted to like it....The place itself is nice however; the service is seriously the worst I have ever had. The owners (I found out later) were extremely rude and unhelpful. I was asking questions about services and it was a big bother. I have been to another spa on Halsted but this is closer to my house in Andersonville. NEVER AGAIN! When it was time for my massage my therapist was clearly a smoker and smelled awful! I tried to give it another shot but to my dismay. For $100 I expect a certain level of professionalism and they didn't even come close.

  • Pros: Nothing I can see
  • Cons: Very rude staff/owners

I completely enjoyed my experience at Sir Spa from start to finish. The facilities - from the relaxation lounge to the locker rooms - were modern in design and well maintained. My massage therapist Antonio was very skilled, and provided an outstanding massage. It was a total living in the lap of luxury experience..

  • Pros: Robes and sandals

This was my first time at SIR Spa, as I got a gift certificate from my wife for Father's Day. I had quite a relaxing morning and really enjoyed the men's focus of the spa facility. The Signature Massage and Fresh Face Treatment definitely exceeded my expectations.

  • Pros: Focused on men

I came to Sir Spa with the intention of relieving aching muscles from a round of "chicken" in the pool with my niece and nephew the day prior. What I wasn't expecting was to be transported into a state of utter bliss. My entire experience at this Chicago men's spa was fantastic. The deep tissue massage that I had from Wade not only removed the pain from my back, but took me a state of nirvana. WOW! No surprise that I give SIR SPA a five star rating!

  • Pros: Talented massage therapists!

I went to Sir Spa for a shoulder and back waxing. I found the environment to be quite relaxing. Considering that this was my very first experience with waxing and my first visit to Sir, I was altogether very pleased. The staff was friendly and efficient. I plan to return to SIR for services in the future.

  • Pros: Friendly staff, great waxing results

I have been going to SIR Spa for over a year and a half. I used to go to other spas in Chicago but have not returned to any of them because I am totally satisfied with the services I receive at SIR Spa. The owners and staff run a smooth operation and are constantly focused on quality. The massages I have received at SIR Spa have been consistently excellent. The amenities are great and the environment is serene and comfortable. I?ve taken advantage of the steam shower and relaxed in the lounge, which make for a complete spa experience. The staff is always able to accommodate my schedule, which with my schedule is very much appreciated. This is the perfect place in the perfect location. I highly recommend SIR Spa.

  • Pros: Total relaxation
  • Cons: None
