I did not know what to expect when I booked a room here for $150/night mid week... But I was Very happy with the hotel. The rooms are on the smallish side, but the Rooms are perfectly do-able. great Classic styling with an updated twist. Bathroom Amenities were l'occtaine (I love those) and the Staff was very friendly an accomadating.

Lets face it, if you are going to be in Chicago, you should not be in your hotel room very much. Just go to sleep there.

The allerton is a great find for the money!

History in the Making

This is an incredible historical hotel located on Michigan Avenue at the heart of shopping district and fine dining. The staff was very corteus and friendly. The suite was luxiruous and very spacious The Italian Renaissence architeture was refine and sofisticated. I love Chicago and this was my 10th time to visit the city but this was the first time I statayed at this hotel. Not only Chicago is my kind of town but now this is my kind of hotel . Hint: if you stay at one of the corner suites facing Michigan Avenue, you can see the fireworks over the river from your room on Saturdays.

• Cons: No wireless in the room but they have fast access by cable
