Better off Red

I am new to Chicago and a new mom. Both have gotten me grey. I previously was a highlighted medium blonde on my mouse brown, but being a mom to a beautiful copper penny baby boy- I decided it was time for a change. I went to Norayne with a photo and she matched the color perfectly with a highlight on half virgin/grey and half highlighted head. No easy task. It looked really good. Unfortunately, I got home, sat with the color, and wasn't falling in love with it. I called her and she asked me to come in. Not only was she just as happy to see me as the first visit- she thanked me for coming in! She consulted me, listened to what I wanted and KAPOW! I am looking at a head of red hair- in a hue I wouldn't have chosen, but it looks gorgeous! I can't say enough about her skill, her professionalism, and the overall experience. I left looking and feeling great. This lovely lady knows her craft!

GREAT SERVICE!

I moved to Chicago from the East Coast a year ago and tried a few places before I found the best salon at Norayne's. Now I would go nowhere else. With my busy schedule, she is extremely flexible and has often stayed late to fit me in. It is a relaxing and private environment but Norayne is also a ton of fun to talk to while she is treating you. I always love the cut and color!

Great Service

I just went to see Norayne for the first time the week of Thanksgiving. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new salon near my house. I saw that she got great reviews on Citysearch so I called to see if I could get an appointment. I knew the week of Thanksgiving is a busy time and she was pretty much booked when I called, but she said she would stay late one night so I could see her. It was nice that she was willing to work around my schedule. The whole experience was great and very relaxing. I loved the way the studio is set up and she did do a fantastic job on my hair! It was the first time in a long time that I didn't come home and immediately go to a mirror to try to "fix " my hair. I got color and a cut and both were done PERFECTLY, she even a suggested a new color that turned out great. I have gotten a lot of compliments and I will definitely go back to see her!

The gift of BEAUTY!

Whenever I go to Norayne's Salon I feel excited because it's like I'm giving a little gift to myself. It feels peaceful, easy and like I'm treating myself to beauty. She loves her work and it shows in the results. I also like that she's easy to converse in general and about what changes I may want for my hair. She makes sure to clarify with me so that we are both on the same page. I have been going to her for years and have sent many friends and they are all very happy with the results. Men and women both have come back to me with a thank you for sending me to her. She's also very helpful to work with my schedule when I'm having a busy time in my life but need to get in. Great talent!

I got my haircut at Norayne's salon because a friend suggested it and it was great! She not only gave me an awesome haircut that i have been getting many compliments on, but was also great to talk too. I highly recomend her.

While I don't color my hair, I am the girl who grows her hair long only to cut it back off and start over again...and always changing up the cut along the way! Norayne always has fun new ideas for hair styles and her relaxing friendly salon is the best way to relax after a day at work. And, Norayne offers the best value in the city. I've paid much more for a far inferior hair cut. Thanks, Norayne!

Awesome with color

I moved to Chicago last year from a smaller area of New York and was terrified of finding a new salon. The prices here are so much more expensive than I'm used to and I didn't know who to trust. Shortly after I arrived, I went to a cheap place where they completely messed up my cut. After that, I was avoiding getting my hair cut because I was terrified of someone messing it up. Then, I decided to dye my blonde hair red with temporary dye. Unfortunately, my red hair faded into a pink (Norayne, I'm sure you remember), and I could wait no longer. I searched this website and found Norayne and couldn't be happier! She sat down with me to discuss my options to get my golden blonde back, and she let me decide which way I'd prefer. She turned my faded pink into a beautiful strawberry blonde. A few months later, I was able to go back and get the rest of my color back (and it matched so well!). After both visits, I received tons of compliments on the shade and the cut. I would definitely recommend Norayne for anyone but especially for highlights or coloring. Her services are great, she's so sweet, and her prices can't be beat.

Amazing would be an understatement.

I spent the last twenty minutes of my time writing a review for this, and then I accidentally clicked a bookmark. I would NOT be spending the time doing this again if it wasn't worth it.

I picked Norayne's because of the great reviews she had on citysearch. I'm a native Texan with wild hair that's rather uncharacteristic of my Asian heritage: it's black (okay, got that one), coarse, and wavy. It's also extremely damaged from a couple months ago when I spontaneously bleached random portions of it blond, not to mention that I had no idea when my last haircut was before this. Even though Norayne had impeccable reviews, I was unsure that she would be able to work with my afro.

The most I have ever spent on a haircut was $20. I figured that while I was in Chicago doing college-visiting, I should probably check out something besides the academic institutions of the city.

I called one day and was scheduled in for the day after. She was flexible with times and on my way to my appointment, I ran into traffic. I called, got to my appointment half an hour late, and she was still the most accommodating person ever. My sister and I were both offered drinks at the door, and she took the time to get a feel for my hair while figuring out what I wanted - which I myself was clueless on.

After a great shampoo and cut, I was amazed at what my afro had become. I could hardly recognize the classy yet contemporary mane that actually made my spontaneous bleaching look ... well, good. I couldn't have expected more. This is from a wash-and-go girl... and occasional straighten. Wavy or straight, it all works, and has grown out beautifully after more than a month.

Norayne isn't just an extremely talented and tasteful artist, she's also a wonderful conversationalist. If you're not going for the cut (which I don't see why you wouldn't), go for the advice. She knows what she's talking about and knows how to relate to people. :)

Definitely worth it.

Amazing cuts, color, style and overall experience! Norayne is incredibly talented and always takes the time to listen to her clients which is evident in the beautiful results. I would recommend her highly to anyone!

The first words that come to mind when I describe the way I feel after my experience at Norayne's Studio Salon is, "absolutely beautiful!" Also I must add, energized, refreshed, stunning and radiant! These are all of the things you too will feel once you get the chance to receive Norayne's one-on-one personalized, and not to mention, all together friendly and FUN salon service, and THAT'S a promise!

Let me give you a perfect example of one of many of her personalized services I speak of; I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and before I started traveling down to her salon she would bring her professional services right to my house! Who could possibly have asked for more?!! Well let me tell you, though her visits to my house were nice and convenient I never could have imagined just how much more I was missing out on by not visiting her at her salon. The minute you walk in it's like you have just entered into your very own private world of primping and pampering without you ever having to lift a finger to achieve that perfect look and feel, and that's because Norayne is there to do that all for you. From the initial consultation right down to the finished end product, and all the other little perks in-between such as the stocked refreshments refrigerator, television, fun music, and comfy atmosphere, Norayne definitely knows exactly how to offer you the ultimate salon experience!

I say give her services a whirl because I know you'll be more than happy that you did! I know I was! Three thumbs up for Norayne's Studio Salon!
