Great Shop!!
by AllDogLover at Citysearch
I followed Angela, one of the owners, from her last shop and I am so glad that I did! The decor of the shop is great - funky, great art work on the walls and they play good music. The staff is helpful and Angela always seems to squeeze me in for my last minute hair cut/trimming needs.
- Pros: Great pricing
- Cons: Not the best parking

This salon is worth a try. Twisted Scissors is a colorful and friendly salon with professionals who know their stuff, delivering high-precision cuts and color without the high-end price tag. I have dragged my poorly dyed, overgrown mop into most of the high-end salons in this town over the past seven years always with the same pitch about being a working stiff looking for the best value in a haircut. Sometimes I come out whacked, other times broke, some services are poor, and a few salons are uncomfortably stiff and over prices. Twisted Scissors is relaxing; I spread out on one of their large comfortable couches, and sank in, nursed my ice-cold beer, and waited for my color to process. When it came time for my haircut, I gave the stylist enough conflicting information to confuse any pro. Despite my efforts to befuddle her, she delivered. I walked out of the shop looking like a new person. The color and cut is on the money and Sassoon himself would be impressed. Cuts start at $30 Color at $60. The salon serves coffee, beer, candy, nuts, and snacks that add a nice touch. Parking is on the street. They are open 7 days a week.
- Pros: Great Cut and Color
- Cons: You can get drunk here (free) bring a designated driver.
West Bucktown salon rocks out stylish, affordable cuts with rebel glam appeal.

In Short
Despite tattoeed stylists and a rockin' scissor ad heart wall motif, this corner salon is sunny and welcoming, washed in pale yellow paint and lit with cream pendant lamps. Five vintage-looking chairs face a wall of mirrors decked out with pnup girls, cheeky signs and keepsakes whilea washing station further back features reclining chairs and more bric-a-brac.
