Seoul Sassy

I've had all three flavors of the fried chicken, and although they are all tasty, the Seoul Sassy outshines the others. It's an explosion of flavors - soy, ginger, and garlic. It's delicious, and unexpected for fried chicken.

Crisp keeps their birds juicy by pressure frying them. This was some of the moistest white meat I've ever had.

The coleslaw is a little lacking, but I will return again and again for the main event - the Crisp Chicken!

Chicken--and lots of it--is on tap at this funky, untraditional Korean fast fooder in Lakeview.

In Short
It's hard to miss the vibrant orange exterior and even harder to narrow down the possibilities from the (also orange) menu of twice-fried Korean "Funke Chicken." Penny-pinched students and neighborhood regulars fill the sparse green storefront for laughably named dishes like the Buddha Bol, a bi bim bop that comes with seasoned veggies and rice. Korean burritos, salads and sandwiches are options, too. Sides include frites, fried mushrooms and horseradish-accented cole slaw.

Korean delights comes to Lakeview

My wife & I were FLOORED at how good the food was here! I ordered the "Wacky Wacky Wings" (yes, that's the name!), which consisted of a heaping dozen chicken wings, half that were baked in a special chili sauce, and the other half in a sweet glaze. I was in HEAVEN! My wife ordered the "Bad Boy", a rice bowl dish consisting of multitude of vegetables, a fried egg, and a side of chili sauce, all to be mixed into a scrumptious mishmash of flavor and spiciness! Crisp is highly recommended! Jae & Doug, I live way up in Portage Park, but the drive to Crisp will be well worth the trip! See you again soon!

• Pros: Extremely tasty wings & bim bim bop, great service, perfect location
• Cons: Parking can be tough, not enough room in my belly for all this Korean goodness
