I have been to Overland Cafe a few times, and each time I say to myself, "Well, that wasn't bad, but it wasn't great." The dishes are tasty but not that memorable. I would definitely rate this place a solid good if the dishes weren't overpriced. However, I will keep going back because it does offer a variety of dishes that's a notch above going to Carrow's or Denny's. I do have to say that I am picky when it comes to my olives, and the ones that come with the Grilled Cafe Chicken are yummy. You will definitely come out of this place feeling full and satisfied with the exception of the price. Service is a tad slow and parking can be difficult.
Pros: good food
Cons: pricey, parking

The breakfast is very good here. Good eggs and good Sunday-morning breakfast type of place. The service is good on some days, not so good on other days.
Pros: good breakfast food
Cons: not good diner food

The food was worse than mediocre and severely overpriced. I thought the service was good until I happened to look up another purchase on my checking account and found out the waitress charged an unauthorized tip to my check card even though we left her a very generous cash tip! Needless to say, I don't recommend this place. There are so many better options in West LA/Culver City...skip this hellhole.
Pros: fast service, there's no one there
Cons: thieving waitstaff, crappy food

You can't go wrong with brunch at Overland Cafe. Tons of dishes to choose from (all very tasty) and all-you-can-drink champagne (the cheap stuff, of course) for only $4.99 per person.
Pros: BRUNCH
Cons: Parking

They're doing construction in the front, so don't be dismayed if you think you've missed it. Overall we had a great experience and will go back. This is a perfect place to relax and be cozy, while enjoying good food. The room is surrounded by booths, with dark wood tables in the center. There is warm, dark lighting with similarly colored contemporary art. The servers, both british women, were very friendly, helpful and warm. Even called us "loves". Most imporantly- the food- appetizer of tamales- great. They don't make them there, but taste fresh and are quite good (having just returned from South America). I ordered the chicken and grilled vegetable salad, dressing on the side. For my strict diet program, this is the perfect place! Very tasty salad, I will order it again. My friend was recommended to try the Shrimp Pesto Pizza. Sounds odd, but when we ate it- tasted great! Almost as good as Pomodoro pizza, to which we are very loyal. Overall: Great variety, a lovely place to relax but dine well.
Pros: Quiet ambience, Friendly service, Variety of very good food
Cons: Parking

I've frequented Overland Cafe a handful of times, and each visit does not disappoint. On my last visit, I ordered a burger, expecting the usual. And much to my surprise, it was the juiciest, tastiest burger I've had in a long time. The meat was thick and succulent, the cheddar just sharp enough, and the fixing are produce-fresh. Don't miss out on the happy hour either...all appetizers are only $5, and house wine and beer are at a nice price. This place is consistently yummy and an excellent value.

We found this place 5 years ago and I must say that this little hole in the wall always provides the best food, good price, and unbeatable service. My husband and I could not get a reservation for valentines so we decided to go to Overland Cafe and it was the best decision we made. They served the best martinis w/ strawberries inside, filet mignon, best ice tea and delicious dessert. All the waitresses are very nice and mindful, excpet for the new Asian girl. Other than that, this place rocks!
Pros: Super Service, Awesome Food, Great Paintings
Cons: Crowded on Weekends

You'll drive right by this place if you are cruising too quickly down Overland, but we decided to walk the three blocks from home a couple months ago--and are we glad we did! My partner and I have entirely different tastes in food (I'm a vegetarian, he's a meat and potatoes guy), and we were both completely satisfied with Overland Cafe. The prices are reasonable and the portions seem to range from just enough to very generous. The bread basket is to die for, with warm pita and more. I'd highly recommend Overland Cafe for lunch anytime or a casual, no attitude dinner with family or friends.
Pros: variety on menu, reasonable prices
Cons: limited parking

had a group of five the other nite for dinner. if all five people agree that the food isn't that good, then i think that's a sure sign not to go there again. calamari appetizer was kinda weak. penne pasta was served with spoon - i guess b/c so soupy. was bland, as was most of the other dishes. thought it'd be a nice lil' quaint place, but wouldn't really recommend this place. our group ordered: tamale, mojito chicken, chicken penne, some other spicy chicken dish, soup. stay away from all those.
